Can I join in again after lasping last year. I just need to get my spending under control. The freezers and cupboards are full to overflowing. I should be able to manage for several weeks but I do need to buy fresh fruit and veg, possibly bread and maybe milk.

I aim to be quite 'creative' in using up what I have in store, not to waste anything and to try and stretch it as much as possible whilst trying to live healthly - well that's the aim, but reality may have to kick in.

So for Jan can I try for £120, which means 4 x shopping online @£25 per week plus the delivery - here's hoping

Just bought some meat online from Donald Russell, had some before and it tastes great. Only bought stuff that had money off and although it was a big spend of £87.80, it will cover 18 meals of meat and we normally have left overs with most meals so it will probably cover about 30 days of evening meals! Plus it was free delivery for orders over £80 and got a free pack of sausages too! :)

Totally recommend it if you have freezer room as it all comes frozen, not getting it delivered until a weeks time so we can make some room in ours this week!

Also means I won' t have to buy any meat from the supermarket for most of the month so my shopping bills will definitely go down!

Also have a Riverford veg delivery today which we get every other week so I will make sure our meal planning uses all this veg before it goes off as sometimes things get forgotten at bottom of the fridge!

Going to town tomorrow as had a bad night with our little one last night but will still do the grocery shopping this afternoon, hopefully going to greengrocer to get cheaper fruit and veg before the Tesco shop! :)

Got back from Morrisons a short while ago. Bought a kg of red onions, a can of yeast, the cookeen that DH forgot last night, and some much needed resealable bags.

Spent £3.71 today, which means my total is £4.71 so far. I'll be heading out to ALDI tomorrow for a bag of flour (5p cheaper than the other two stores!). Next week I'll end up getting eggs and milk, then whatever is left over I'll get some of the spices and herbs we are running low on.

The curry was great that we had last night (having it for lunch today as well!). I have a bag of frozen fish fillets in the freezer, so I'm thinking about making fish cakes for dinner with creole spiced potato wedges and green beans (again from the freezer) for dinner tonight.

We've still got 5 meals worth of salmon fillets, plus enough salmon off cuts for at least one, maybe two fish pies, plus bones and skin for fish stock. Bought a whole salmon right before Christmas for £4.69/kg. :)

We had leftovers again yesterday so have still not spent any more of my grocery budget. Making a broth tonight, boiling the bones and eeking it out a bit further.

Please may I join. I have been seriously lurking around the site in general.

Please put me down for £150 for January starting today until 3rd February.

This is for 2 Adults, DS(15) with hollow legs and DD(9), 3 dogs and 6 hens.

I will get organised and use the cooking and baking skills which I already have but have got lazy.

DH is recovering from Cancer Surgery with more tests ahead. We need to save for both a holiday, maybe a car and certainly to reduce lingering piddly debts.

Forgive me if I don't post much but will update sig.

Just back from a quick whip round the shops whilst the dog was having his hair cut and tried really hard to spend minimal money but use up nectar points, boots points etc

Managed to get the following for the grand total of £3.41 in cash -
8 cans dog food, dog chews, red onion, red pepper, 2 packs of breakfast bars, deodorant, shower gel and reduced bread.

    Hurrah!
Only fresh stuff to get on the weekend now - hopefully less than a tenner.:)

Reduced sections can be brutal when the last price drops are being done can't they? My local Mr T can range from civilised (I'll take a peek in at those times) to downright brutality at which point I don't even wander over for a peek

    Hi Folks

£9.44 spent so far this week which I think is pretty good for me. Did not go into the supermarket yesterday, made a list and told son not to deviate from it. He didn't and I was chuffed. So we have done well so far.

Tomorrow I have a supermarket delivery and its well under £60. This will keep us going bar milk and possibly bread until next Wednesday. I have another order set up for delivery and will continue to do this during January.

Tomorrows order includes washing powder, fabric conditioner (basic) and dishwasher tablets. This is a once a month purchase so I am happy with my total cost.

Going to put the cheapo fabric conditioner in an empty espensive bottle so I feel as though I am using the one I really want. I know I don't really need to use this product but at the moment I am deciding to do so.

All the best to you all as we start the month :).
