Small spend of £1 today for milk, sent DS2 with the exact money, which saved temptation.
Used the leftover mash and veg from yesterdays dinner and crumbled in some cubed up cheese left over from new year and a quarter tin of sweetcorn and onion fried up in a pan then covered in left over gravy from last niight. We had this for dinner and it was scrummy and saved anything from being thrown away.
Tonights meal was chicken chasseur with mash and veg, I really am going to have to do an inventory and meal plan this week but concentrating on an important deadline for uni at the moment so not much time.GC 10/12/2012 to 10/12/2013 £611.71/ £5000

£5 spent from my eating out budget today at a local play centre as we ended up staying for 5 hours and i hadn't taken quite enough snacks for the kids to last. Not planning to spend anything tomorrow but i do have a nice list mounting up as i run out of things, so may need to go at the weekend, XJune £0.00 GC / £200.00Family of 4 : 1 adult 3 kids ages 3,4 & 5.0

Not too hard as back to work today and started at 7am, but its a good start to a new challenge
Well done!!
My first no spend day too and it was really hard! I've been chomping at the bit to go the haberdashery for a solitary button and we also need milk but will improvise tomorrow instead!!!
Oo. Just had a thought typing that! I have a pot of single cream we haven't used in the fridge with a good date. I'm gonna dilute it and see if anyone notices.

Stocked up on pet food for the month for mutts and moggies, £31 out of their £40 monthly budget so I will see how this lasts, have taken to weighing the ideal daily amount out rather than grabbing the usual generous handful. Another thrift thing did today was add water to my 3/4 full lenor concentrate to fill it back up... a quick shake and the clothes came out spelling just as good!
£47.91 spent stocking up on groceries today which leaves £102.09 if I take off DD1's monthly dinner money, DDs has packed lunch so have incorporated that into the groceries budget.;)Thriftkitten

Hi, can i join in please, im not sure how it works, but ive read the front page of the thread. Theres only myself, although a couple of times a week i maybe cooking for myself and my boyfriend. Im going to try and go for a monthly spend of £72 which is about £18 per week. I will probably go over it this month as i have today done a big shop, which included lots of toiletries as the ones i buy were on offer at half price today. In the £18 per week im going to spend im hoping to include at least 2 bottles of wine a month. I work in a supermarket so i tend to buy a lot of reduced items (as long as they are healthy). I think this should be doable for me as i shop on a daily basis and make the most of all reduced products. The money has got to include, breakfast, lunch, tea and some healthy snacks as well as drinks, ie coffee, fruit juices, cleaning products, loo rolls etc and toiletries. Breakfast is normally porridge, or healthy cereal with mixed fresh nuts and fruit juice or coffee. Lunch is normally a sandwich and yoghurt with a cup a soup or coffee with fruit. Tea is a proper cooked meal with meat/fish and veg/salad. I may change the tea time to lunch time and have a mid day cooked lunch at work on a couple of days a week as its only £1 for dinner and 50 for a dessert. This will also come within the £18 per week. Large shop today was £43.43!!! which only leaves me £28.57 for the next 3 weeks (£9.52 per week). As i said i may go over for this month only.0

Its one of those sites where you add in the ingredients/food that you have, add whether you want a stew or casserole or whatever and it will come up with recipes to match what you have or you may just have to add one or two things if you have them in. You can also set preferences in the top corner eg if you don't eat nuts, fish etc
I've just added in some ingredients for me and it's come up with some lovely casseroles that I wouldn't have thought of.
There's also a list of other sites that do this here Funtimes Guide
Hope that helps and enjoy your day
Day two and still not spent anything. Helps that I haven't been out. OH popped to Mr As for a few bits but spent his own money
Babysitting for our GS and watching Midsomer later. Hope everyone else is having a relaxing evening
