Well done MummyEm that all sounds yummy. I am really impressed that you resisted the temptation to buy loads of things you didn't need. :D :T

    Hi all :)

Got a quick questions as a inexperienced newbie....how do i make a signiture? I would like to update my spends from time to time without posting, but can't see how.

Another thing is do i include spends on non-food/cleaning items in my budget? I bought 2 pairs of jogging bottoms from Sports Direct for £13. Not keen on sports clothes but need something comfy to wear other than leggings and tights whilst on maternity leave and figured after LO is born i will be going to the gym and therefore i will get even more wear out of them.

Current total spend is £11.32 (not including clothing).

    Suze :)

Hi Suze, there is a dark green bar just above these posts which says:
Main Site Forum UserCP Community etc

Click on User CP, then on the lefthand side there is Your Control Panel. About a third of the way down under the Settings & Options you'll find Edit Signature click on that and you'll find a box where you can type in what you want your signature to say and you can add smileys and colours/fonts etc as you can on a normal post. HTH's ;) Also I include non food things like toiletries and cleaning stuff in my budget but not clothes or gifts etc.

Well just over a quarter of this months budget spent today at £6.05. Went in for a couple of things but came out with a few extras so going to alter my meal planner to fit them in. It means what is in the freezer will last a bit longer and what I brought were all reduced. Decided not to go near a supermarket till at least Sunday if even needed then.
I did treat myself to a nice meal for tonight but again was reduced and a reduced treat tastes even better.

Went to Waitrose with DH when he got back from work and spent £12.47 and put the 3p change in to the sealed pot. Mainly soups and stuff, tried very hard to resist the lure of the yummy reduced Christmas chocolate and goodies!! :o:D

That leaves me with just under £50 for two weeks so should be okay. :)

Used up the last of the Christmas ham today, nom nom nom!! :D

Spent £3.85 today (actually spent more but had a £3 odd APG). I bought a couple of reduced price fish and brocolli, plus lunch for us at sister in laws where we went today.

Just been looking at what I need to bulk buy and I need museli. Apparently this weekend at LIDL museli is on half price along with other healthy things (blueberries and the like). I'll be Lidl shopping this weekend then!

First spend of the year! Half a dozen eggs, a litre of milk, a kilo of demerara and a bag of flaked almonds came to €6.52.

While I've set my budget, I'm really trying to buy as little as possible this month, in volume as well as price. Rescued two chicken thighs from the back of the freezer (which got a sort through today) and made matzo ball soup for dinner. Also turned a couple of frozen-far-too-long-ago bananas into banana bread. Used up the end of the sliced ham and fake ham in sandwiches at lunch. Am almost out of cheddar but have plenty of fancy cheese left. Toasted leftover brie sandwiches feel both posh and frugal at the same time!

£1 spent by DH in tesco to add to our total, am just meal planning through to the end of next week and doing an online shop for delivery Friday, which will hopefully last until then too!

So I have been cooking and baking all day but now have lots of food for the family buffet so start shortly!
AS I said yesterday, I'd normally spend around £60 on this kind of thing on lots of pre-packed rubbish. I'm hoping it all goes down ok with the family. I have baked 4 different quiches, have a cheese platter, seafood platter, veggies with 2 different HM dips and will be putting potato wedges on in a bit so I can serve these hot.

Total spend £1.95 on eggs (but still have 8 left) DH also picked up grapes and a baguette he says it was around £3 but has left the receipt in the car so I'll update properly when I have the figure.

Well done!! I am seriously impressed :T

Mrs_T_M, I will add your extremely useful recipe (I've never managed t get burger buns right) to the index later tonight - I'm on my iPad just now and really need to be on the laptop. Looking forward to trying them out!

Went to Mr M today and had a spend of £34.11, including some decent whoopsies:

Organic milk £1.82 Do NOT usually buy this, Mr M was sold out of whole milk except organic
    Coke x2 £2.50
    Bread flour 70p
    Alb*rto balsam x4 £3
    Cat food £1.05
    Toothpaste 50p
YS Individual Steak pie & individual chicken pie 15p each
    Single cream 60p
    Cheddar £2
    YS smoked salmon £1.55
    Ham £1
    Greek yoghurt £1
    YS garlic bread 7p
    YS potatoes 2.5kg £1.25
    Coffee £4.79
    Bin bags £1
    Cauliflower 97p
    Green beans 50p
    Chopped toms 31p
    Kidney beans 27p
    Tomato pur!e 29p
    Salsa 69p
    Butter £1.19
    Ground cumin 95p
    Garlic £1
    Ginger 6p
    Deodorant 89p
    Courgette 43p
    Broccoli 84p
    Salad £1.30
    Crisps £1.29

Really annoyed as just noticed that my salad was on offer at £1.00 and scanned at £1.30

Have meal planned up until next Wednesday instead of my usual week as am away to Prague for 4 days then :D (mine and OH's Christmas present to each other). Don't think I'll need anything but milk and fruit until then as we're eating loads from the freezer, but we'll see.

so all I need to do is come up with something creative for mains (which I am determined I will) and we are sorted.

Pinkypig I wonder if this will help you. Super cook recipes

Its one of those sites where you add in the ingredients/food that you have, add whether you want a stew or casserole or whatever and it will come up with recipes to match what you have or you may just have to add one or two things if you have them in. You can also set preferences in the top corner eg if you don't eat nuts, fish etc
I've just added in some ingredients for me and it's come up with some lovely casseroles that I wouldn't have thought of.
There's also a list of other sites that do this here Funtimes Guide
Hope that helps and enjoy your day :)
Day two and still not spent anything. Helps that I haven't been out. OH popped to Mr As for a few bits but spent his own money :)
Babysitting for our GS and watching Midsomer later. Hope everyone else is having a relaxing evening
