Just got an e-mail with a £12 off of a £60 online shop at Tesco. I've never bought from them before (other than a few of the massively marked down items at the local Tesco Express). Our typical budget for a month is £50, so if I can get all we need, I think it will be worth it. Thing is, how much does delivery typically cost? I don't want the delivery cost to eat the discount!

Delivery varies depending on day and time you want it! I think it is between about £3 and £6, I always go for the £3 slots which are Tuesday and Wednesday evenings I think x

    I can't believe it. It's ANOTHER MSD!!!

We really really need fresh milk as the kids are having to use my soya :(
but as I've been spring cleaning since I got up this morning (and STILL haven't stopped!) I haven't had time to dash out. Also I look horrific as I've just scraped back my hair in a braid and my face is free of cosmetics!! I would give the other customers a real fright if I dashed to the shops.

So there you have it. ANOTHER no spend day :j :j

Hope you've all had a good day. :)

Good evening - finally got around to doing this week's main shop, although I think I'll need cooked meat before the week's out. Anyway, today's spend comes to: £26.29, taking my total so far for January to £96.69. Not sure I'll end up on target for January (breaking down the annual budget by 12 means I could ideally do with spending less than £150 per month) - we'll see. I'm planning my meals with care and the freezer is well stocked.

Just had toad in the hole for tea and got thinking - does anyone have any ideas with regards to supermarket own brand replacements for the Breakfast Corner yoghurts? They're expensive when not on offer and Mr KB likes to take one for his lunch every day. Any ideas of something a little cheaper?

Hi all, just popping by to update as have had 3 spends this week, so much bloomin' fruit and veg due to being on slimming world! Still, I feel like I have far more energy so it must be doing me some good.

Did the big shop in !id!, £31.07. Went in the evening which I never normally do and they had lots reduced by 30%. Then 2 shops at Mr M, £8.95 and £2.56. Looking at those 2 receipts it's all fruit, veg and yoghurt, plus some rooibos tea bags as we're trying to reduce our ridiculous caffeine habit.

Roast chicken, baked sweet potato and veg for tea. Can't wait!

Have a lovely evening everyone :)

    I'm a result of babyled weaning :)
My parents decided that once I was showing interest in food that they'd were equal parts not bothered with faffing about with seperate "baby food" and also didn't want to feed me anything they wouldn't eat themselves. In the beginning it was mostly thick soupy things like if they were having stew, they'd put a bit through the food processor for me. Everyone eats the same (just different levels of solid) so it's really handy.

I'll also note that growing up I never, ever had a weird food phase. There were so many people in my class who wouldn't eat anything that wasn't on toast, or peas, or yellow food or things that were touching or things that had to be disguised (none had sensory issues that I was aware of).
If it was put in front of me, I scoffed it :EasterBun

bluegreen sorry, just read your list. If you can do part of your shop at !idl or a!di you'll save quite a bit. More to spend on the wedding then!

Bought some items off your list there:

    Butternut squash £1 per kg
    Carrots 1 kg. 69p
    Bag mixed peppers. 89p
    4 salmon fillets. £4.89
    Milk, 4 litres. £1

But I'm lucky enough to have one of the big 4 within walking distance and !id! 5 mins drive away which makes price comparison a lot easier!

    Re fruit corners:

Get a little tub with a lid. Fill 2/3 with natural yoghurt (the large value tubs are only about 45p)
Pop some value muesli or granola in a food bag to sprinkle on the yoghurt at work.

    :D

    Less sugar and healthier too!
(a banana would work just as well over the yogurt as a change now and then)

    :)

If he likes the rice pudding ones, how about getting the tins of value rice puddings in. They are 17p a tin and will make up 2 tubs for work if not 3. Value peaches can be added to the tub. One tin will last 3 days if not kept in the tin in the fridge :)
