Well...
Went to the dentist and spent £2.50 of car park which I will not count.
Afterwards spent £15 in Primarni on some jeans I had promised DS2 for his B'day yesterday - so that doesn't count towards GC either!
Managed to avoid all £shops and HB on the way back to the car and came straight home so no spending!
DH has just taken me out for a carvery as he is home so that came to £7.88 which I WILL add to my total as it was food! No drinks with dinner and came home for coffee.
Not a bad day at all so far being as I had temptation well and truly in my way this morning!!May GC 433.32/ 350  Apr GC 263.43 /300
Mar GC 346.43 /350 Feb GC 248.01/300

So annoying!
I am writing up a list for him of snacks he could have /make for himself instead of asking me to come up with something for im.
Just off the top of my head there are:
5 different cereals in the cupboard.
Bread sliced for sandwiches or for toasting.
Egss to make omellette or boiled egg on toast etc.
Couscous, flavoured...only has to add ot water and cover it for 5 mins.
Oven chips.
Cheese for sandwiches, on toast etc.
Tinned soup
Baked beans
Yoghurt
Apples, pears, clementines and red grapes
Sundried tomatoes, olives, antipasti type things.
And loads more proper main meal stuff!
Surely he has enough nouse to conjure up a quick snack with some of the above ingredients?
Grrrr....
This used to drive me nuts when my two were young. Like you I wrote a list and stuck it on the fridge door. Word of warning though if we ran out of anything on the list you can bet your boots thats the only one thing that they fancy. Mums cant win:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -

Got a spend of £5.20 to add to my total and another NSD yesterday. Went to the coop not last night but the night before for reduced bargains but it was actually quite disappointing. Got some bread for 39p and a roast chicken down from £5.55 to £2.65 amongst other things. This might sound astounding to some haha but I have actually never done a proper roast dinner so I have made it a New Years Resolution to do a roast dinner every sunday for the family and i am so excited to start! So if anyone has any recipes or tips for a roast chicken dinner this sunday it would be much appreciated
oh and i wish i had found some cheese for 25p! I find cheese soooo expensive but i will keep my eyes peeled now because funnily enough i never thought about freezing it! Will update signature now

Me too! Great minds think alike! Is there a thread to go through the abreviations for things becuase I am finding it difficult to follow the thread
Hi - some of the more obvious ones are:
NSD - no spend day
YS/RTC - yellow stickered/reduced to clear items
HTH (hope that helps!)
Small spend of 89p in M&$ on wholemeal rolls. I was collecting an online order so it made sense to grab them there. Will update sig in a mo.
Budgets done to here

I used to love taking part in these challenges when I was a "active" member a year ago. Now that I have taken up the reigns again I think I will get back to posting and making PROPER grocery list.
So far this year I have been very good (9days and counting)

@meg72, oh yes, i couldn't agree more. Mum's can't win at all. When they go off and have their own children, i believe that is called 'payback'!

Quite chuffed went to Lidl before Sainsbob and found quite a few cheaper items so saved some money there. Picked up a few non essentials for the cupboard in both shops but it's stuff I know I'll use and will be factoring them into my menu plans. Spent £3.58 in Asda, £4.94 in Lidl and £15.16 in Sainsbob bring the total spent to £23.68. Bought some pre cooked pastry tart cases to make some Jamie Oliver style puddings and they were reduced, didn't realise until I checked the receipt as it wasn't showing on the tickets so yay for that!Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013
