Hi kerri..great news about the holiday and hope the scan was a wonderful experience.
You will love Bath..it's a great city. And a very good set of mat support networks..Hope OH survives the commute.. That's my only worry for you..but you're going in with your eyes open.
Yep, tight month here too. That's what holidays do for us...
Take care hon and dont overdo it. XxMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi Brizzle
we're deciding on Bristol again, very indecisive we are. Decided we'd save £££ on the train and probably rent somewhere out in Bradley Stoke or Stoke Gifford, boring but quiet and I already know where the nearest supermarkets are.
First scan todayI got my dates wrong, I now have to read up on weeks 10 and 11 because we're at 11 weeks and 4 days. Due date is the 1st January... if this baby is born then I will not be a happy mummy. OH is finally getting excited, he stared open mouthed as the little one did backflips, front flips and barely stayed still long enough for the lady to take the photos!
Money-wise, currently we have about £100 left to our names for the month. Payday a week on Friday when most of it will go on deposit for the new place, if we can find somewhere. I'm meant to be in Ipswich with work next week so that's a week spent dining out on the company, not too shabby.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

:rotfl: (I am laughing but in a good way!:D)
It will be a 'safe option' with lots of more modern houses which are easier to heat. Avoid the shopping mecca of Cribbs tho! Do let me know when you plan to move and I can come over and bring cake:T
I have been in Cardiff a bit for work..I really like it..but no chance of moving family I am afraid!
Hope you're still feeling good. Take care and eats lots in Suffolk!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Aw thank you, if you are Cardiff way let me know and I can refresh you with tea and cake (and cuddles from putty tats).
I think my mind is made up with the boring, economical, and better on the bank balance housing estates. £700 - £900 for 3-4 bedrooms, garden, garage and driveway. No train fare for the OH and let's face it, after November I'm not going to be going anywhere fast. The less we pay in bills the more we can save for our dream house in BathDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Hi there Mummy-to-be!
Congrats on your wonderful news from sunny Canada! What an eventful year you have had! Delighted that you are starting your own dynasty who will one day take over the reins of running your empire-you're a great role model to any lil growing boy or girl!
Dont worry about the EDD of Jan 1st. My sixth baby (eep!) was born just before Christmas and it was the most perfect time...the promise of new life in the new year etc etc.
Now, you sit down and put your feet up and let your OH rush around after you and treat you like a princess!!!'You've got to tell your money what to do or it will leave!' Dave Ramsey0 -
Thanks Canucksfan, how is your little one? I can't believe you have 6! I hope we stop at 2, when we get to 2 that is
OH needs to read the pregnancy book I think, he's not quite understanding of all the changes going on with my body so no waiting on me like a princess unfortunately.
Hmmm I returned the tent we bought for our holiday back to the shop the other day, but the refund is still not showing at all in my account. I forgot that I had been issued with a new pin following my card being blocked and reissued, so managed to enter my pin number wrong 3 times. I shall leave it a week before I go back to them and have a word, it says it has been authorized on the receipt just not showing yet which is rather annoying grrr.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Right sensible finances head on then, we need to work out how much money we're not going to have in July/August.
June
Incoming:
£2300 - me
£1100 - OH guesstimate of 3 weeks wages
Outgoing:
£116 - electricity
£167 - c/tax
£220 - c/tax (charged twice as OH now working and they changed the bill)
£270 - OH train fare
£75 - car insurance
£35 - house insurance
£30 - cat food
£15 - car tax
£900 - rent
£40 - gym
£200 - food
£23 - broadband
£25 - OH mobile
£25 - my mobile
£312 - agency fee for new property
Leaves £947 towards new property deposit
July:
£2300 - me
£1600 - OH
£116 - electricity
£167 - c/tax
£75 - car insurance
£35 - house insurance
£30 - cat food
£15 - car tax
£40 - gym
£200 - food
£23 - broadband
£25 - OH mobile
£25 - my mobile
So that's expenses of £751 which leaves us with £3149 plus the £947 = £4096 for house move, not too shabby!
Allocate £900 for deposit and £900 for first months rent. £200 for van hire, £200 for house cleaning (hoping it won't be anywhere near this amount). That still leaves us with over £2000 in August.
The one thing I can't get my head around though is how the OH is going to split things. He wants to split everything 2 ways, except I'm paid almost 1.5 times as much as he is, so he'll always feel like he's skint whereas I'll have surplus. Hmm....
I understand him saying that we should be able to manage our own finances, but how do I turn round to him with his first pay cheque and say "oh by the way I want all of it put in the joint account and you still owe £100", then say to him with his next one "oh by the way this month I would like £1500". If it were down to me I would put all the money in one pot, then give ourselves and allowance each month. But I've discussed this with him before and he won't have any of it. What do other people do?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Tricky issue this Kerri. Personally pre marriage I have known people Have a joint account and a personal individual account too. They then pay in an agreed sum into a joint account - which might vary depending on your salary, but then all costs come from that joint account and anything spare in your individual account is yours...helpful when like me you have ( had!:rotfl:) a Clar.ns habit and he had a CD one... Means no one can complain on the boll.x one spends ones cash on..:rotfl: helpful for decreasing the blood pressure and number of rows!!
BUT to be honest we have just chucked everything into a joint account for years..way before we got married, in fact when we started living together. When we have had cash we then agreed an individual allowance, or acceptable spends. That was OK. However at moment we are probably closer in mind and spirit over money than possibly ever ( thanks to this great site:cool:) and so we are spending only after we have BOTH agreed its the right thing to do...bliss....:D:TMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
