    Hello clippy_girl and thanks :)

    Right, seeing as this is my diary and I'm not supposed to tell anyone but I know I'll go completely mad if I can't really talk about it to anyone. Oh annnnd sometimes we all need a little bit of cheering up on this exhausting, stressful and sometimes miserable debt free journey, I have decided to write down the super duper update. At the very least I'll be able to stay sane by talking about it on here.

    So... ******spoilers******

    We're going to be having a baby :) and the reason we're not meant to say yet is that we're probably only about 5 weeks in. But like I said I'm going to go absolutely bonkers if I have to spend the next 7 weeks not telling anyone at all. Well I have told my parents and he's told his, we decided to as they'll be the ones we tell if anything goes wrong. Plus we're super excited...after the initial shock that is.

    So plan of action is:

    * pay off OD (in progress)
    * pay off cc (as quickly as possible)
    * no unnecessary spends
    * save up the money for a deposit on a house/flat/barn conversion in Bath/surrounding areas
    * move to Bath to rent whilst saving up deposit for our own house
    * have child
    * buy our first place when baby is about 6 months old

    All very scary, achievable, and of course exciting.

    Reasons for Bath, did I say?, are that it's a really nice area with good schools. The commute to Bristol is fairly easy, it's in the countryside and it's an hour closer to my parents. It's also fairly easy to get to the M4 for work and other such things.

    Maternity package from work is fair. First 6 weeks is full pay, following 6 weeks is half pay, then SMP up until 40 weeks. Not sure how long I'll take off, likely to be 6 months we are guessing. I work from home anyway, so provided I can manage full time Mum and using a computer (I managed it with my sisters kids) then I think I should be ok. But of course little people throw spanners into the works and things.

    Due to my thyroid I'm going to be under the care of a consultant the entire way through to make sure my TSH levels are depleted. First blood test is on Thursday, really miffed with my doctor today as I felt he was just trying to rush me through, didn't really listen to me, or make me feel at ease, and just shoved a load of documentation on me then shoved me out the door. He was the locum though, so hope I won't see him again. First scan will be after we've been on holiday and I'm already feeling guilty having to lie to my friends about why I couldn't drink with them yesterday. I'm not sure "I don't really drink when it's sunny" washed, but nevermind they'll understand when they know I guess. Although, I think when I see her tomorrow she might pull me up on it. Ho hum :)

    So there you have it, I'm off to check the bank account as my sister should have paid me £50 which can come off the OD making it just £200 to go woohoo.

    Thank you both :)

    Well OD now sits at £200 and the credit card is ridiculous. We've taken a box and a big black bag of stuff to the charity shop this morning, well OH did whilst I went to the hospital for colposcopy appointment. All fine though :)

    OH is slowly realising that the "I kept forgetting" was probably more a "let's just leave it to chance" ;) either way we're both happy, he'd just rather have been the one to give it the nod...but I think we'd have been waiting a long time for him to be ready.

    I've had some more sales whilst I've been out, but I really need to list the stock I have sat in a box next to me. Although, I think I might give fleabay a shout and see if there is anyway I can increase my selling allowance, as I appear to be selling out of variations quite quickly which is more than annoying me.

    Emailed a few letting agents in Bath yesterday, they're going to sign me up to their newsletters and alerts for when new properties become available. We're set on Bath now, and although we don't really know anyone there we're sure we'll end up meeting people. Can't be that hard can it?

    So...jobs for today:
    * call fleabay and ask for increase in selling allowance
    * list more things onto the website (this is now getting 60-75 hits per day woohooo)
    * package up orders and take to the post office
    * do some advertising of the business through various methods of social networking
    * tell the cats 10,000 times to be quiet and stop meowing for no reason :)

  • All three of my children were 'happy accidents' :o the middle one was the most planned out of all three, we were kind of leaving it to chance as well with her ;) and it happened within 2 weeks of doing that :eek: !!! I think the men have a harder time of coming round sometimes as they don't get to bond properly until bubba is born. Then they always change their tune if it was a bit off to start with ;)

    As for moving to a new area, i've done this tonnes of times and always manage to make a few friends (i'm a less is more kinda gal anyway so don't really go out of my way to make tonnes) within weeks of being in a new place :) you'll be fine and it sounds a lovely place to start a family xx

    (p.s great news on the website sounds like it's going well)

    Aw thanks, I was hoping it would cheer people up a bit :) I'm off for some blood tests today to confirm what I already know that I need to be on a higher dose of my thyroid medication. The OH and I have had a massive barney the past couple of days and he almost walked out. I was being quite irrational, I have no idea if it was just me as I am, me + hormones, or the hormones but it was pretty bad.
    We're all made up now though and I've promised to try to be nicer, even if I am feeling highly hormonal. OH is worried because we were meant to wait 2 years so he could enjoy being out of debt a bit, and now we're going to go straight from being in debt to having a mortgage. I know it's not quite the same, but I'm sure when the little one comes along he'll see that spending time & money on himself would have delayed the joy and happiness I know we're going to experience.

    Anyway money.... I didn't spend anything yesterday mostly I was in bed feeling terrible about rowing with the OH and waiting to see if he was going to stay or go.

    Today I need to buy butter as we have run out, but that'll do us for now. I also need to package and post the business orders that have come in the past couple of days *slaps hand* should have done them on Tuesday!
