Real-life MMD: Who should pay the parking fine?

So you pay the fine......
Simples, not exactly a dillema is it....0 -
You should pay, it's your fault. But if you are nice about it and you're that cash strapped I bet your mum offers to help out0

Something very similar happened to me recently: I was babysitting my brother's 2 children and took them to the local leisure centre for a few hours. I paid for my parking but lost track of time, overstayed and was fined. I told my brother and very luckily for me he offered to pay my fine, even tho it was completely my fault.0

You shouldn't even have gone to get these items in the first place, but you did and you parked in a place where you knew you shouldn't. Your actions, your responsibility.0

As you chose to park where you did, legally you should pay the fine. You might argue that you wouldn't have been out if your mother hadn't asked you but that cuts no legal mustard. Nevertheless I would ask your mother to pay because you never get a 'yes' if you don't ask!
Your mother doesn't seem to have learned much in her lifetime. Builders always drink lakes of tea but there is no need to give them biscuits! Also, if she's getting short of milk or tea she could ask them to buy some on their way in the next day....so that it costs them too...0 -
You should!
The back story is irrelevant.
You chose to park where you shouldn't.0 -
If you're adamant that it's your mums fault take the hit for another time you've parked there. You've parked illegally for however many times and never been fined. Consider yourself lucky, pay this one (within 21 days) for £55 and don't park there again.
I got a parking ticket for parking on my own street where the double yellows finished because of a combination of people parking badly and people parking to watch the football. should i sit outside and charge each one of them a little towards my fine each until it's paid up? No, i took responsibility for my actions and paid, now when there's nowhere to park i park on a different street. simple!Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

yes you need to pay the fine as you chose where to park. Yes you were hashed but that is no excuse. As you are still at home at 25 it sounds like your mum is a good egg so if you tell her your dilemma she may choose to help you out -even with part of it. Ask and see what happens dont expect you are not 12. It sounds ...3 jobs or not... you are very lucky to be under your mums roof some of us have been living independently since our teens with no choice of a cosy house with a well off mum to stay with !!0

Sorry, where you park is nothing to do with yuor mother. Take some responsibility for your own actions!! Park Properly in future!0

It is your fine to pay, but if you tell your mum about it, I would expect her to pay it for you in the circumstances.
Of course she might give you a lecture about where to park in future... but she'd be entitled to if she was paying the fine.0
