  • Hello Debtbusters :-)
I have been looking at my figures again and not doing too badly.
Have paid off my Lloyds CC as it was a 0% balance card so no interest paid on that in 6 months - now to start working on the others.

Checking my Sainsburys CC account I discovered that several late fee payments have been added and when I checked the statements it appears that no payments have been made for 2 months despite them leaving my bank account on time - have emailed them to find out why.
Have been too busy over Christmas to check accounts properly :-(

However despite having to raise my OD limit and OH Barclaycard total increasing due to having to use it for work related trips according to my calculations my overall debt has decreased by £1280 since Dec 2012 :j
Don't want to work out interest amount paid out but must look for more 0% cards.

Grocery shopping total came in at £427.16 which was over the £400 I had set myself - guess I got carried away somewhere, I have written down all shopping items bought over the month so I must overhaul the lists and see where I can make savings.
My youngest DD is going away this month for 4 months so we can make some savings on food there , plus savings on water/electricity :)

Must go look at the meter, I am trying to get into a routine of reading the meter every month and putting them into online account so I am only charged for the electricity used.

  • Oh no Stormfisherman :(:(:(

i know a real bu**er but at least the steps i have put in place before hand i will hope limit the damage

but on the bright side i lost 1/2st this week and had a very nice 10 Mile hike along the south downs way yesterday .

i was told by my boss on Friday that i am to taken on as a full time employee rather than being a contractor but on the downside i loose £1.00 a hour but the benefits and holiday pay make up the difference so at least i should have some stability for a while now to take my life forward
debt free as of 1/10/2014 and loving it :j
All done using YNAB and Bank tree.

  • Stormfisherman that's rubbish news!

Hope you manage to see someone for advice & get it sorted out.

Castlelough my OH already does about 30 hours OT a month & I don't do any so I will maybe try to make upto the same amount as him then we probably wont even notice the difference in the money at all.

Silver lining is tho that next year we will feel £95 a month richer LOL

    Always gotta find the positives.

I haven't done my monthly update yet but all my bills have been paid off this month so when I am in work tomorrow I will do all my calculations & give you all an update.

Have a nice night my lovelies

  • Just onto update my debt totals as first loan payment has gone out now so debt down to £24642.42 and hopefully only 35 months until its all gone! Took part in Jan NSD and managed 9/8 so have signed up for feb too and increased my target to 9 NSD. Have also joined the grocery challenge too so hopefully will keep me on the straight and narrow and perhaps make it a bit fun too.

  • Hi Everyone - I'm itching to update my figures but I'm going to wait it out and update it all on the 22nd of the month when I receive my final statement! Everyone is doing really well! My new job is manic as I'm running my old job and new job concurrently but I don't mind as I like to keep busy!

Rejoined SW after a 3 week 'eat and drink all you want' diet and maintained! Cannot believe that!!

So I continue to gain strength from all the peeps on this thread and it reminds me that i'm not alone. Thanks everyone.

Hi all- everyone seems to be on track which is good.
NYD- I'm like you prefer to wait until interest is off and see the final statement. When I had all the CCs I could update more regularly as all statements came in at different times of the month now only one payment so it seems a long time in between months before I see it coming down again, feel like I'm wishing my life away I'm so impatient.
Dolly rocker that's a good amount off in a month, that will whittle it down nice and steadily.
Leictina- that's a month closer well done.
Although I'm not posting often I am reading and you are all keeping me really motivated so thank guys and girls.:)
