Congratulations on the weight loss Dollyrocker! I managed 3/4 lb this week, bringing me to 6 1/4 lbs so far. Delighted, but terrified that it is an error on the scales and that next week I'll be back where I started!
Newyorkdreams well done on being shortlisted for that promotion. Get studying up for the interview NOW! Google is your best friend for forums on interview tips and ensure you research the types of questions that you will be asked, and be ready with killer answers (google for interview questions relevant to your field of work). Plan your interview outfit/hair/nail/eyebrows and other personal grooming now - you may need to borrow something from a friend or make an appt in advance. Best of luck with your prep - if you want this job, then give it your best shot for a fab 2013!
Have had a good week! Mind you, I had to replace all four of the tyres on my car yesterday (€200) so that is my 'emergency fund' depleted, and I need to make a doctor's appt before payday so that may need to go onto my credit card.
Still, chin up! We will get there! Let's all stay focused on the prize! I recently totted up how much my income would be if I wasn't making all these debt repayments. The figure made me so happy! Then I did a fictitious budget for myself for when I am debtfree - I want that life NOW! The budget had money for holidays, clothes and little luxuries I amn't allowed have at the moment. It will be great to get to that debtfree life. Hope you all have a lovely week! xxDebts: Credit Card: €6000 ---> €5050 Feb 25 \ Overdraft: Step 3/100

Brilliant!! Think I'll do this - it may just be the motivation I need.
Sorry all for the grumbly post earlier - I've had a good word with myself (and read Castle's v cheerful post) and I'm feeling much more like myself again. Dec 2015 here we come!!
NYD - good luck for the interview - You Can Do This!! :j You said yourself that you know what you need to do, so break all of that down into manageable steps/actions and you will crack it. Dazzle dazzle dazzle!!
Ninja - having the numbers feels strangely good doesn't it?! I think its feeling more 'debtbuster in control' and less 'ostrich with head firmly in sand'. And to have paid anything off, never mind over 2% in this everlasting January is positively saintly!!
Good luck for the week everyone - lets get those numbers tumbling............Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
God sakesssssssssssss why is it always when you have a plan in action that something goes t1ts up!!!!!
I have planned out all the payments over the next 2-3 years to be debt free on what we can afford. Now OH gets a letter from the tax office to say that his tax code is changing to K117 which I think from what I can see online is that he will pay his normal tax at 20% plus another £1170 throughout the year which is an extra £97.50 a month.
Flamin idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just a bloody buggar tbh.
I am still determined to stick to my debt busting plans might have to just squeeze in some OT on a Saturday :-(
We shall see how it affects us after his wage in April 2013.

Sorry to hear about that Dolly - theres nothing worse than something scuppering the plans...... Hopefully you will manage to make the deficit up with some overtime...
I am waiting for payslip - dont get paid til thursday....then i can so some proper number crunching and set up a nice new shiney spreadsheet..:)
On target to get rid of one of my overdrafts by 22 Feb which i am happy about but so hard to judge with overdrafts - but i have laid off the CC overpayments so the money is building up in the account. I am then going to let it build up for another couple of weeks before i start the overpayments back up.
Bit disheartening on one hand to not see the CCs go down quicker but having a couple of hundred in the black will feel good too i hope. So serious det busting from April onwards i hope - but like you Dolly it wont take much to jeopardise it.
My DS has just informed me i need to pay £27 by next week for his prom... non refundable and its not til 21 June - for a meal he probably wont eat...
Anyway keep it up everyone 2015 will be here before we know it (mine is dec 2015 but determined to keep to it) and we will all have that debt free budget going on.
Well of to read up on the 5:2 diet... anyone else on this one??Updating .................................................

Looking forward to getting paid so I can get some more debt busting done - At least this tax thing is not gonna affect us until April.
On another miserable note I have the dentist at 9am tomorrow - I hate the dentist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all
I would love to join you on this journey. My current DFD is May 2016. Part of my debt is a loan which i will finish paying off in December 2014 ideally i would to be debt free by then.....but first must make it from 2016 to 2015......
I had my LBM in January 2012 and last year managed to clear 23.6% of my starting debt total, if i can keep that up i should be clear early 2016......
I update my spreadsheet totals at the end of each month and will update on here also..
good luck to all those trying to lose £'s and lb's.....:DLBM @ 01.01.12 TOTAL DEBT = £13301.77. LH number 320
POAMAYC in 2013 #1 : £54.53/£10159.90
1% challenge - 7% paid off.
DFD @ 31.07.13 is April 2017 (45 months to go!)0 -
Hi all,
I've been very guilty of reading and thanking but not posting sorry! Will try to lurk less and post more in future!
I've lost 7lbs in the last 2 weeks and an interim debt count has shown I'm still on track for a 2015 DFD, but I don't check properly until the 9th. I know that seems a bit random but that's when the last direct debit has been claimed for the month.
I'm sorry to hear of your tax issue Dolly. There's always something isn't there?! XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida0
