    Princess sorry to hear.

  • Sorry for your news Princess - hope another door opens for you soon. x
  • Oh no Princess!!! That's rubbish about the job but its really good that your employer gave you those cheques a lot of places would not have bothered at all.

No more debt busting to report from me. I am trying to stick within budget so that if I have anything left at the end of the month I am going to pay that to one of the CC's even if its only £5 then every little bit helps.

I have a lot on in February & in March so I know I am not gonna be able to throw much more at the debt in these months but after that I want to be able to pay little chunks extra off each month.

It still seems like such a long way away but the dream of being debt free is still so exciting to me & I cannot wait it will be such an achievement I will be so proud of myself.

Oh god yeah the whole weight thing is not going well for me - I weighed in at 13st 7.5lbs this morning. This has been the first day on plan for me I have been very good, tracked everything, no cheating & I have not felt hungry at all.

  • Well I finally sorted out the accounts and got a proper total that I need to get covered in the next two years. £16310.93. Not great but at least I know what I'm now dealing with. Oh well, onwards. xxx
  • Well done on getting it all together - I think thats the worst part cos you need to face up to the amount.

    But you have done it!

Onwards & downwards from here xxx

Thanks Dolly, at least that's the first step over and done with - and I like your style onwards and downwards...:rotfl:
  • Well I'm really pleased with myself, as so far this month -

    have lost another 2 lb ( total weightloss 5 & 1/2lbs since Jan 1st )
have now had 17 NSDs since Jan 1st
have only spent £230.34 of my £400 grocery budget this month.

On the negative side - my £200 petrol budget did not last the month and my DH used his CC for petrol tonight !! obviously I didn't allow for the constant taxi service he provides for DD's, will have to review that amount next month. Good thing is he's going away from 26th Jan until 2nd Feb so I won't need to find any more petrol money this month.

I somehow got talked into ordering a new front door which will cost £1800 ( the old one is made of wood with glass panels and is badly fitted allowing heat out and cold in so we desperately did need a new one but I should have waited a while longer - if only the weather hadn't turned so cold I maybe wouldn't have given in so easily !!)

  • Just a quick check in from me!

Princess I'm very sorry to hear about your job. That's a bit of a kick in the teeth, even if your employer was kind to you with the unexpected cheque. Fingers crossed for something even better in the pipeline.

I've had a very positive week so far! DH was able to give me back money he owed me for a flight (that I didn't expect him to repay me for) so that was an extra €120 (€70 off OD and €50 off CC).

Then this morning I realised that some tax back I had applied for before Christmas had come into my account. I transferred it at once off the CC - another €300 down.

It has made me so happy today! I've been bouncing about - paying off the debts feels just as good as spending the money used to! And as a result of the two payments my DFD has been brought back to July 2015! :j
I am expecting another similar payment from Revenue, so hoping it will appear in my bank account soon. Our bank manager said to come back about our mortgage application when my CC had been reduced back to €2k - so I am getting so, so close now! :j
    Debts: Credit Card: €6000 ---> €5050 Feb 25 \ Overdraft: Step 3/100
Savings: FF Fund: Step 23/100 \ CU: 3755/4000
  • I totally agree that paying the debt feels as good as spending used to!!!

I think this is a great feeling & its gonna help us loads through this journey.

Well done on the extra payments.

  • I think I might need a new door aswell - But I rent & my landlord is a stinge so thats not gonna happen.

My house can get freezing cos of it though so would hate to think of how much waste I am paying on my gas & leccie bills.
