I am just waiting on payday to get here so I can get some of my totals down again.

Not much to report here been work, home, work, home - get the drift!

Me too Dolly Rocker. My house is upside down but I want to spend today sorting out my office area and update spreadsheets etc to see where I'm up to. I have tried so hard to cut back this month and think I've done ok. I need to redo the spreadsheets as they need simplifying so I'll get that done too. Did a big shop yesterday and spent £130 on shopping but this will definitely see us through to pay day. I don't think I've spent £600 on shopping this month, but will update when I get everything in one place.

Hope you all have a lovely day x
  • Hello all I'm a newbie and with my calculations and help from my DMP I will be hopefully debt-free by July 2015. :j I've been in debt for such a long time I don't think I can remember a time when I was'nt. :o I was such an idiot when I was younger and did just literally put my head in the sand! No more credit and will try to keep within my budget. I have a loan finishing in Nov this year and a secured loan with Welcome Finance  finishing July next year so to say I've been incredibly stupid is an understatement but no more! Hope you are all well and I have to say this site is fabulous :T

  • Welcome PDMTY and JANETB! This site is indeed fabulous and keeps you going on our quest to be debt free!
Quick update from me - got my first salary yesterday in the new job and have allowed myself to spend the first extra bit this month. I know Martin wouldn't approve but I've worked my a** off this month (probably did 50 hours over and above at least) and I think I deserve something nice! Who agrees with me?!! BUt from next month, I'm going to make sure that I put the extra to my debts, definitely.

I started paying my dear dad back for an interest free wedding loan we got from him in 2009!!! Bless! So that's an extra £500 a month that we are paying back! I only got paid yesterday and hardly have any money left : ( Still it's not forever and I know I'm doing the right thing.

I'm pleased to say that I've paid back 10% of my target for 2013!!! How cool is that? I'm so pleased . The weight loss is going a little slower. I've kinda lost the plot with that a bit but hoping to refocus now I'm getting settled in my new job (which I absolutely love btw).

Hope everyone is doing ok! Happy Friday everyone.

Thanks Newyorkdreams for your lovely reply I'm determined to get sorted financially in the next 2 - 3 years really am  I'm a staff nurse on a busy surgical ward and unfortunately in May this year I will be facing rebanding in my staff grade which probably means naff all to a lot of people but to me I'll be losing about £200 per month so will be doing a lot of overtime tlll I can see some breathing space :( But hey-ho onwards and upwards, roll on being debt-free.

  • Hi JanetB - awww I hate to hear nurses getting penalised further - £200 is a bit deal when IMHO you don't get near enough what you should anyway. Before I got this promotion I was regraded down the way and it made me feel so angry and demotivated as I always do over and above what is expected. I too was like you - spend spend spend - no budget and no plan to pay it back. The debt in my signature is for 2 of us but it's still a whack and sometimes it gets me down but other times I thank god for finding this site and having my LBM otherwise who knows where I might be in a few years time. Bankrupt probably. This site keeps me sane as it reminds me I'm not alone when the going gets tough and I get sad about it but then I remind myself that I had the party and it's payback time. We can do this together and support each other when the going gets rough

Awwww thanks luv, I'm not the only one to get affected by our NHS trust regorganizing its "business plan" lots of auxillary nurses are being affected - it sucks really but hey-ho what can u do :( We can't even appeal the decision, we all could've done in 2011 when it all happened but we did'nt know so we did'nt - bummer  Anyway here's to a better time for all of us :T

WOW! A stone in 6 weeks - Please let me be lucky - you need to share your tips! I have 'restarted' today and decided to give it 110% - cut out all the crap and try and exercise a bit more. We know what we need to do, it's just actually doing it!
