Everyone seems to be doing really well. Got my latest gas bill today and I'm £263 in credit so they are crediting me with that this week and it will pay off our highest interest debt!! 1 down, 10 to go.:-DNumber of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0

I've paid off £750, not great, but on top of that I've also saved £1300 for our holiday, paid off our other holiday (£500) and put by £450 for my son's music school fees, so not so shabby.
(We decided when starting to clear the debt that we would still have holidays as long as they weren't on credit. It means our DFD is probably 2 years back, but we weren't prepared to skip holidays as we both work very hard in fulltime jobs and it's the only time we get with the kids all together. )
Also, I've now lost a stone and a half. :j:j:jLong haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

Well done on the weight losses & also the debt busting.
I could get rid of my debt much quicker if I didn't still have my holidays but no way I just couldn't go without.
Will take me a while longer but we shall get there in the end while still living aswell.
Still not lost any weight - oh well

I'm with you on the holiday front we have scaled back but still having one,I think total deprivation would send me over the edge and I'd be more likely to throw the towel in ,yes this way will take longer but slow and steady wins the race doesn't it?!LBM Jan 2012 £32355 now £23984.01

Hi,
I had a LBM in 2010 and did brilliantly paying off loads of debt. My DFD should have been July 2012.
Sadly, I lost the plot in 2012 and started spending again plus the pressure of paying for my son at uni took it's toll.
So my debt free day is June 2015. I will be 50 in July 2015!
I would love to pay it off earlier than this.
So, please can I join this thread? Current debt stands at £15,490.
Thanks.missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Hi everyone can I join too?
I suppose you could say i've just experienced my LBM and i'm ashamed of the debt that I haveit currently stands at £14,055 and I just want to cry when I think of that figure!!!
I'm 30 (31 next month) and married with 3 kids - hubby works full time tho isn't on a great wage and i'm a SAHM and have been since August 2009 when I unfortunately had to leave my job due to medical reasons (and my employer not exactly being helpful) I have worked out that without our debt repayments we would be living comfortably - certainly wouldn't be rich but it would make a huge difference!!!
I have one loan payment left till thats gone and everything else is on credit cards - i've just done a balance transfer for £2200 so it's now interest free till May 2014 but can't move the rest about so need to hit it hard! we need to get a mortgage sooner rather than later and the debt is preventing this just now, i'm hoping I can learn lots more tips and tricks on here that might help me pay things off sooner - have made up budgets for the next 4months with all of our incoming and outgoings and we'll be paying a lot extra into things so with any luck and a bit of work i'll see the balances dropping very soon!0
