Happy New Year!!! (Sorry a bit late :))

Wow this thread has taken off!! Its so lovely that theres a fair few of us looking at the same-ish length of time - I'm sure we will all be a bit overwhelmed at times, what with broken tumble driers and so on, but at least we'll be in it together! :j

Positive steps thus far for me:
    1. I have balance transferred almost 2K onto 0% for 16 months. Due to the number of credit cards we have and the sheer amount of credit, we are unable to apply for new 0% deals so as we snowball onto one card, we then get offered 0% and have just started the fun game of 'pass the debt' which may go on for some time

    2. I have sorted out loads of ye olde silver jewellery from circa 1998, ready to take into a local jewellers to sell.

Phew!! Think I need a lie down. Nearly the weekend!

Oh dear, hope you are feeling better soon.

On a mission to get to payday without going over our overdraft limit. It's going to be very tight, if not impossible.
Got rid of some VERY old clothes out of the loft yesterday to cash4clothes for £7.70. 4 bin bags out of the loft :) Need to do much more decluttering.

Got 8 items on ebay. 4 have minimum bids on but lots of watchers. If I make £25 I'll be thrilled.

Have managed to avoid costa twice in the past week and one of my debts has just been paid off:rotfl: saving me £40 per month (of course it was the smallest one and on 0%).
Wish the others were closer and more manageable. All very positive but still baby steps. Will be so much better in Feb when I'll have normal money coming in.
    Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)

We're in the same boat. Have just got a 0% deal -first one we've been accepted for in a year of applying intermittently -but only £1500 limit, which is a drop in the ocean in our debt, but anything on 0% is a bonus, I reckon.

I wish I had starting to take control of my finances at your age!!!

I am gonna be about 32 or 33 when I am finally debt free

  • I will be 43! I've just spent the past 2 hours doing calculators, loan payments and eventually plumped for 0% interest for 23 months to fall in line with the debt free by 2015. I'll need a holiday by then but I'll be able to pay for it debt free!! god I bet that will feel good. x
