    Hello,
Have been lurking for a few days but would like to join. I have 2 loans that finish in 2014 which will leave me with an additional £767 per month!!! But in the meantime I would like to focus on clearing the od's and cc's. I know the od's have a slightly lower apr but I am fed up of seeing a negative number. Also can't join in with the pad challenge because I would just be increasing my od to do it IYKWIM. So
    1 - clear Oh Santander card £323
    2 - clear oh od £1000
    3 - clear my od £1750
    4 - clear joint od £1750.

Will take some sticking to the straight and narrow!!
Also want to lose 40 pounds in weight by the summer so meal planning and strict shopping should help with that too.
    Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)

  • Happy New Year everyone.
Well I haven't really posted much on this thread so far so need to sort that out straight away,I feel I lost my way a bit in December, didn't add to the debt but just not as focused. Payments will start to come out my account over the next few days so should be able to update my signature totals and see where things stand. I have a shiny new spend diary and I really need to get back into tracking my spends again. Pleased to say today is a nsd, think I will go and join the January nsd challenge to keep things focused aswell.

Count me in on this :)

I don't have an exact figure yet as I'm waiting on a tax bill (which will go onto a 0% card) but once it's added it'll be in the region of £7,500 plus an overdraft of around £600.

My plan is to pay minimum payments on the CC for 2 or 3 months until the overdraft is cleared and then I'll divide what's left by the remaining number of interest-free months.

I have shaved £50 off of household expenditure (a huge bulk of that by cancelling Virgin TV) and we have a freezer full of yellow-stickered food. I will NOT be buying takeaways!

I will continue to buy provisions for lunches on Monday mornings (I'm rubbish at remembering to take stuff in if I make it at home) and make lunch at work on a daily basis.

Possibly a step too far but I have sat down with my new diary in front of me and worked out the best day to buy my monthly season ticket (I don't get a season ticket loan) so that it includes the maximum number of work days and have booked odd days holiday here and there to nudge onto a more favourable renewal date without ever having to buy a daily ticket :o

I will add exact amounts when I have them, good luck to all!
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10
  • Happy New Year everyone! Just wanted to say thank you for your encouragement and support re the tummy/gallstones. I had a very quiet and boring NYE and NYD (not like me being Scottish - we like to party at Hogmanay) and was sober! Still, it has paid off as I haven't had any pain since the evening of the 29th which means my plan must be working (boring but effective : )) - I hope to be able to say that about my debt busting activities!!!

Today has been a NSD and because we didn't go out with friends as planned we have saved around £80 (or so). We were also underbudget for Christmas spend (or you could say I was too lenient in the first place) so we have £180 to put towards our debt! That feels kinda good!

Have been in the house today and getting a bit bored now although enjoying the lovely long lies in bed : ) TBH, I'm looking forward to getting back to work - never thought I would say that!!!

Cheers to everyone and I hope 2013 is a happy, healthy and prosperous year for you!

This made me chuckle NewYorkDreams as my dad is scottish and it is a standing joke in our house as when we were kids he would get drunk and put scottish pipe music on and wail "I want tee go home" bless his heart. As I left the NYE party last night I reminded him of this and he chuckled and said "those were the days". My mum rang today to say that he was so drunk he'd got stuck between their garden step and the wheelie bins for about 15 mins and when she did he fell into the xmas tree and stayed there until this morning as she couldn't move him. The youth of today eh.....he's 72!
