ooh the weightloss thingy sounds good
can I join? Do people attend classes or just weigh in on here? I still havent lost my prenancy weight and my baby is 9 months old:o I go back to work in March and need to fit into my nurses uniform  I have done slimming world in the past
It's sort of just joined onto this thread as a number of us said we wanted to lose weight, then Storm Fisherman said he'd lost a huge amount of weight, so offered to give out tips and advice. I'm not going to classes because I can't afford it! I have the slimming world paperwork at home from a failed attempt a few years ago so am sort of following it, but basically cutting right down/out on sweet things, bread and pastries, cheese, crisps, biscuits, cakes and chocolate. Well, maybe the odd bit of chocolate. My danger points are in the evenings, once the kids are in bed if my hubby is on lates or nights (he's a copper) then I get bored and raid the cupboards.
the plan is we weigh in once a week and SF will keep tabs of everyone's loss.Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -
I am in the middle of working out my plan to stick to, I feel a bit all over the place at the moment as I dont get paid until the 15th so cant start a fresh until then with debt busting or slimming as we are trying to clear out cupboards and freezer at the moment so we dont spend any money we dont have.
However I did pop to the market yesterday and had a look in boots and managed to get two xmas pressies for next year in the 50% sale and paid for them with points
Next on the list is to sort out a lot of things for ebay and I also want to look on music magpie as I heard you can sell clothes now???
Then I need to decide if I am going to join a slimming class which I cant realistically afford but realistically if I dont go I probably wont lose as much weight as I need to physically go and weigh in to make sure I dont cheat, oh the decisions£23366/ £39206.92 DFD Nov 20160 -
Good morning and a warm welcome to the newbies on this thread.
i have just being catching up with all the post from overnight will add some comments later
The one statement i will just add to cover my own rear end legally so to speak is that any info etc i give will need to be verified and it is up to the individual to verify that information and uses said infomation at his or hers own risk .
So with that out the way down to business and lets start saving, paying back and losing weight.
so anybody out there with any tips etc please post them up however small or insignificant because that one small tip might just solve someones Else's problems. As they say you learn something evey day.debt free as of 1/10/2014 and loving it :j

I am not sure if this is the right place, but here are our finances as they stand at the moment. We have grouped our expenses as one, so all figures are for both of us (i.e. our combined petrol budget, our combined mobile phone bills etc etc). Obviously if anyone has any input or suggestions or thinks I have missed something then please do wade in!

Hey everyone!!!
Wow loads of us on here now.
I have been out for the weekly shop this week & cos I have stuff in the cupboards that I am planning to use we came under budget this week - yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I love it - I am starting to keep all receipts then make sure that everything is all paid off at the end of the month.
I use a CC for some bills & the weekly shop then pay it in full at the end of the month cos we get points & free vouchers with that one.
I am going to be very strict with this - I will promise to keep you all posted on this.
Weight wise I am gonna go to a WW class as this is the only thing that works for me so I will be starting that up again on Saturday morning.
I think with that we will all be able to help each other out with debt & weight & any other wee blips in the road that we have to encounter.
I am also going to add another thing on here for the ladies (or the men) but I am a bit of a nail polish addict - I have about 30 different bottles & just cant stop buying them!!!!!!!!!! I am going to pledge not to buy any until all the ones I have run out. I did buy another 6 yesterday so this is what has promted this decision.
There are gonna be so many challenges in this one thread!!!
Going to do my nails for NYE so black & silver as this will match my dress that I am wearing.
If I get falsies to put on I just buy the Primark ones at £1 & if they arent the right colour I just paint them.
I have the weakest nails ever so they are never all the same lenght so thats why I use the wee false ones sometimes.
Anyway sorry for rambling on haha - I am off to have a nice relaxing bubble bath.
Speak soon

I would repost that SOA on its own thread I am hopeless right now at giving out advice on stuff like that cos I'm still so bad at it myself!!
There are loads of people on here who will give you pointers if you give it its own thread

Hi all
here is an example of why we should not spend on luxuries and only on what is really required
a bar of chocolate cost £1.50 but the hidden cost is £13.52 why that fig. see example below
cost of chocolate bar £1.50 + £1.50 not going to your debt repayment + the compound interest.
for me thats APR of 22.4% on one of the credits cards and the seven years of compound interest that has not been paid assuming i pay the same amount Evey month .
now is that chocolate bar really worth it????debt free as of 1/10/2014 and loving it :j
