  • Forgive me peeps for being so self-indulgent, but I am suddenly feeling overwhelmed at the task ahead, don't get me wrong I am motivated to do this, but I am just thinking to myself "where on earth do we start"!!! Am I alone in feeling this way? Someone give me a kick up the bum for heaven sake!

  • Newlywed Saving Ninja, it's perfectly natural to feel like that, but feeling in control is such a powerful thing. Think about the long term goal, the life you want to lead, the feeling of freedom and the feeling that you managed to do this for yourself. I totally appreciate how you feel but things will only get better if you face them, take hold of their collar and head butt them full on. You can do this, you really can, you just need to believe in yourself. It's perfectly natural to feel overwhelmed but that will pass as you see the balances being reduced and knowing that you did it. Don't give up, we're all here for each other, and we're here for you - however you're feeling. x x x
  • This made me chuckle NewYorkDreams as my dad is scottish and it is a standing joke in our house as when we were kids he would get drunk and put scottish pipe music on and wail "I want tee go home" bless his heart. As I left the NYE party last night I reminded him of this and he chuckled and said "those were the days". My mum rang today to say that he was so drunk he'd got stuck between their garden step and the wheelie bins for about 15 mins and when she did he fell into the xmas tree and stayed there until this morning as she couldn't move him. The youth of today eh.....he's 72!

OMG that is hilarious!!!!! Thats usually me after a night out but I managed to stay relatively sober last night for a wee change!

I think that is gonna be one of my NY Resolutions - to stop getted absolutely hammered LOL

So far so good havent had a drink at all this year:rotfl:

I know it's most sensible to pay off debts with the highest interest rate first but looking at yours, I'd be sorely tempted to pay the Very/Kays/Debenhmas ones first as the amounts are so small to give yourself the feelgood factor to spur you on to the bigger ones!
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

It is pretty overwhelming we all have that feeling & I sometimes think oh whats the point might aswell just stay in debt & have more to spend each month - BUT the feeling that I will have when I am debt free will just be the best ever!!!

I have been in debt since I was 18 so that is almost 12 years which is all my adult life.

I think that this 2 or 3 years of struggle will be well worth it cos we are setting ourselves off on a great footing for the rest of our lives because I know that at the end of this I will never get back into debt unless I buy a house - Not sure I would even want to do this I am quite happy to rent at the minute but that might change later down the line.

See I would do the same cos its full debt paid off in full so that would be a great motivator for me.

Evening all still reading away here this thread suddenly took off.

Been laid up with flu for the last 5days so no budgeting etc has been done which I am a bit disappointed about as I wanted to be all updated and ready but looks like this will be by the weekend now

As for weight loss I haven't managed to get a start weigh in figure so will count this weeks as a no change and start next week on Saturday. I too am going to be mostly slimming world but have stuff to use up too so this won't be quite sw all the way

Happy. new year and here's to getting debt free

Great advice, I totally agree. It will help with the motivation, keep it on your list but make sure that you physically cross it out or write ACHIEVED or something like that so that you can see what you have achieved, not just what is left to do. x
