  • Good afternoon,

So it is Friday afternoon and the weekend has begun (properly when DH gets home).

Had a lovely catch up with my other friend this morning, two hours in a coffee shop and we got offered free cake...okay it was only a sampler but it was nice yummy chocolate cake :D

Spoke to DH this afternoon and told him that I am cutting down alcohol during the week, I explained to him that although I didn't drink a massive amount I still felt rough and I didn't like it.

We got the Water Rates through £302.43 for the year  I rang them up and asked them if we could pay over 12 months instead of 10 and apparently they only do it over 11 months; so I opted for that option instead and have reduced the payments by £10. So the increase with the Council Tax is offset in a way and is another thing I can cross off my list on the first page :D

The first of April is going to look interesting on my spreadsheet. Which reminds me I need to update my spreadsheet with payments out of the Current Account; I haven't done it for weeks :o

Looking forward to DH getting paid, want to get the ball rolling and see what else I can do next month.

Have a good weekend everyone xx

Ouch!!! I thought ours was bad. x
  • Just had a giggle. DD was reading some nursery rhymes and she started by reading 'Little Miss Muppet' lol
  • Hi Purple ..... best of luck for the cutting down the drinks during the week, I used to drink loads but cut down a few years ago & hardly touch it at all now - def prefer the getting up and walking the dog to doing the walk of shame home (while people are on the bus going to work) and then having to struggle through the day! (oh my, I'd forgotten how bad I was for a bit there!)

My spreadsheets need some serious updating too!
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!
  • Good morning,

I'm sorry that I'm neglecting my diary so much, I'm trying to get in to a new routine and sort my life out.

On the job front; nothing heard yet

DH gets paid on Friday and we have the shopping coming then too.

DS goes away to Kingswood on Wednesday and comes back on Friday...all being well and the snow goes away.

My birthday is on Thursday and as DS is away on his trip, I've told him we'll celebrate on Friday instead; that way he doesn't miss out.

I didn't drink at all last night :j I haven't gone to bed sober for a long time and although I think I drank enough tea to sink a battleship, I've woken up without a fuzzy head and without the need to have a drink of water. My reckoning is that I saved roughly £6 :)

Put some petrol in my car yesterday, mainly because of the carp weather I didn't want to get stuck with no petrol. I've not done too bad as I filled it up when DH got paid last time so quite pleased with myself.

Got a lot to do today, I need to put labels in DS's clothes so that he knows which are his and need to pack too and I'm round at the Junior's side of the school at work too.

Have a good day everyone x

    Good morning,

DS went to school this morning armed with his packed bag ready to go to Kingswood Adventure place this afternoon...he's back on Friday and although he winds me up like crazy; I'm going to miss my little man :(

Still on the bright side DD has film club at school this afternoon, so I won't need to pick her up until 4pm...she's watching the rest of E.T and is again excited :rotfl:

AFD number 2 yesterday, I was so tempted to have a drink but I promised myself that I wouldn't and went to bed sober :) I'm still having trouble getting to sleep, mainly because of the cold I think and because I'm not drinking I'm feeling the chill at night.

Easter holidays are coming up, that'll give me two weeks to clean the house, I'm aiming to try and get as much low spend/no spend activities done with the kids too, hopefully if the weather's nice, they can play out in the garden too.

    Now thinking about next week:

This week so far, I've not achieved any NSD's and that is mainly because I'm spending at Tesco's or Morrison's. Next week, I want to achieve a minumum of 4/5 and then the same the week after if I'm to hit my target. I'm sure if I can do the AFD's I can acheive the NSD's :)

Going to try and cut out the snacks next week, to be honest I do eat a lot of stuff and that's mainly out of boredom. More motivation needed :)

Shopping is being delivered this Friday, I need to get a meal plan sorted for next week.

    Moving forward:

As our month tends to go from the 15th - 15th, I'm going to try and get this 'month' in a reasonable state and see if we can remain intact for a change; it is going to be hard going but unless I try I'll never know!

Any money I get for my birthday tomorrow will be banked as will my cleaning money.

    Things to do this afternoon:

    Wash up
    Sort out dinner
Change kids beds - DD can help with hers as she has a mountain of teddies on her bed :D
General tidy up of the lounge
    Put washing away

Right that should keep me going for a bit.

    Have a lovely day x

  • Good morning,

Clocked up my 3rd AFD yesterday :) I like the feeling of waking up not fuzzy headed. Today will be different though as it's my birthday and I plan to have a drink or two to celebrate.

DS is home tomorrow and I'll be glad to see him, never thought I'd miss my big pain in the bum but I have; it's just too quiet here.

Aiming for a NSD today, I need to nip to Tesco's to get some bits but I'm not planning on spending anything other than that.

Cleaning day today, so £18 to come there.

I got some birthday money this morning so need to nip to the bank and pay it in along with the money I get today and take it off the credit card.

DH gets paid tomorrow :jand the shopping is coming too, in the morning I need to sort my plan of action for next week too.

I have renewed energy and I like it :D

    Have a good day x
