Where would you be if you married your first partner?

I'd be living at the farm across the field probably as that is where my first boyfriend lives. We have never been far from each others lives. We are both married and socialise weekly I could never have married him though as he hates horses and I love 'em. We still argue 30 years later about how I 'waste' land by grazing horses on it :rotfl:

1st 'boyfriend' at 9 - no idea
1st 'real' relationship - i would be a famous persons wife
1st 'husband' i would be dead. I dont say that lightly, he would have killed me if our neighbour hadn't walked in and did worse to his next girlfriend

As it goes, i'm single, the proud mother to 4 wonderful children,
rushed off my feet with my own small business, an insomniac (although i am sure the non sleeping thing would be there regardless!)and wouldn't have it any other way!

My first 'proper' girlfriend is now a fully qualified lawyer making a ton of money. I'd be rolling in cash I suspect. DOH!

Exactly where I am now! I married my first proper partner, before that it had only been two week things.

Mind you, if I had gone out with the first bloke I really fancied, I would be somewhere very different today......well, we are just discovering that now as we have met up again nearly 30 years later and have started going out!

What an interesting thread. We'd probably be fairly happy although we don't see the world in the same way so I imagine there would be frustrations. We're still friends and he does ask occassionally! I have a feeling we did one of those 'if we're not married by the time we're 40' pacts..........!

I'm glad I didn't because I wouldn't have the life I have now, I wouldn't live in the part of the country I do or have the job I have both things I love.

Hmm probably much the same as now but bored and passionless, I'd still have 2 kids, still work full time, still live in the same town. He was/is a lovely guy but as dull as dishwaster, safe and dependable and unfortunately i'm a bit of a impulsive person who likes excitement and needs to have a spark with a partner so it fizzled out when I got pursued by someone who was/is just my type. We speak if we see each other but he has told me in the past i made him feel inferior but i think that was his own doing as for a while after the split he was convinced he could be like the new guy and would do stuff and make comparisons. Dont know how his wife would feel to know he said my kids should have been his last time i saw him, eeek.
