Doesnt sound right to me either, my little sky man re-positioned my dish which has helped. Send another email to Mr Murdoch complaining about the position the skyman has put you in. Hopefully they will assist.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave

Just a quick question if you have things saved on your old box do you loose it all when you get a new box?

Unfortunately yes you do. Unless you have a DVD recorder you can copy the saved programmes to.

Our box is playing up big time. We really want a new one but have too much stuff on it to copy across so are trying to be patient with it :D
It baffles me why the don't have the technology to hook up a cable to one box and transfer the saved programmes to another box.
Maybe I'll have to invent one :rotfl:

Or why it cannot be saved onto the Sky+ card like they do with mobile phones.

My SKY+ box has been acting up now for months. The recordings skip and jump all over the place. It is impossible to watch some of the recordings. However, this doesn't happen to all our recordings. Is it that the hard drive could be damaged in one place? Any how, my machine is not Amstrad, well I don't think it is? It just has SKY+ on it and no other make?? Could it be Pace? That rings a bell with me but my manual cannot be found. Can someone please help? Are SKY replacing machines other than Amstrad?

    Many Thanks
