Parcel2go will send to Netherlands for 14.99 Pounds + VAT per parcel with UPS or a bit less with Yodel assuming they are not too big - I used a 50cm cube. I would pay the extra for UPS.

Cheap and reliable, though not the fastest on the market.

The cheapest on the market is currently £14.58 +VAT for DPD via Fast Lane International.

I want to send luggage for my holidays to Germany, ca 20kg. Has anyone any experiences sending luggage? Which companies are the cheapest, and most reliable? Thought I save the hassle of taking it with me as I travel with a small child using public transport with several changes... I found a quote for UPS for 29.99 to 34.99 but have never used UPS.

The best price on this is £12.99 + VAT for Direct Entry via Parcel2Go UK.

28/05/2014 Via P2G’s online service a parcel was consigned to a UPS ‘Drop-Off Point (i.e. a local newsagent) in Leicestershire for delivery to a UPS ‘Drop-Off Point in Leyton, East London. Buyer notified.

30/05. This message was placed on P2G Tracking page (by UPS?).
“The receiver has canceled the product order and refused delivery.”
The buyer was contacted, but responded that they had no knowledge of delivery or refusal.
    Seller emailed P2G for explanation.

    31/05 Holding email from P2G

Co-operative emails to and from buyer and seller until

03/06 From the buyer saying that the Leyton Drop-Off point had been removed from the UPS system on 28/05 and was no longer involved with parcel collection. The buyer asked if the parcel could be re-delivered to an alternative Drop-Off Point. The tracking page now says “The package will be returned to the sender”

Seller used the ‘on-line chat’ provided by P2G and, after 25 minutes, got 2 pieces of information.
    1. That the parcel was recorded as ‘Returned’ and
    2. That P2G’s Returns Unit would call me ‘within 48hrs’
Note. 1. In P2G speak ‘Returned means sent to a warehouse in Bolton.
    2. They didn’t

06/06 Formal complaint from Seller to P2G.

10/06 Response from P2G “.. confirm for me how you'd like to proceed I will of course contact the returns team and ask them to process that for you - I'll also ascertain if there will be any further costs ...”

Seller responded with buyer's first alternative address.

12/06 From P2G “I've asked the returns team to take a look at it and let us know so we can get the parcel moving as soon as possible. Let me know if you don't hear anything and I'll escalate things for you!” (Note the level of urgency)

12/06 From P2G “Please reply to this email and provide a delivery address to recover youritem. We are not able to deliver parcels to UPS parcel shops or access points.

15/06 Buyer provide new, domestic, delivery address. Seller notified P2G.

18/06 Buyer confirms “Parcel Delivered “.
  • I am unsure if I am posting this in the correct forum, but please bare with me.

On the 6th May, I bought from Interparcel a pre 9am delivery. They kindly collected my parcel from me on the 7th May with delivery being pre 9am on the 8th May via Citylink.

On the morning of the 8th May, my trainer started her training course without any of the material to hand at 9am. Then started the constant phoning. I phoned Interparcel no less then 13 times to find out where my parcel was. The tracker, stated it was still at the depot but Interparcel didn't know where it was located. I managed to get hold of a lovely lad at Citylink who told me that they had had a tracking problem and so they were looking for my parcel. In the meantime, due to the training course taking place at a conference unit, I told Interparcel that if the parcel wasn't delivered before 4pm, that they should return the parcel to me directly.

My parcel was then delivered to the venue on the 12th May pre 9am. When I phoned Interparcel to ask by it had been delivered, even though my request was for it to be returned, they couldn't give me an proper answer and they then stated that I would have to pay them to return the parcel. As you can expect, I used another courier to do that.

I have subsequently written to the company stating the above and giving them a breakdown of what costs we had incurred as a result. Unfortunately, their reply was:
"Thank you for writing to my Director, who has seen your letter and passed to myself for a response.

I am very sorry for the delay to your parcel, and of course for any consequential losses this may have caused.

Unfortunately we do not consider claims for consequential loss, and as the service chosen does not have a money back guarantee I am unable to offer a refund.

As a gesture of goodwill I would like to offer up to £10 off your next 2 orders. Please reply to this email with your new order number/s and we will process a refund as soon as possible"

I wrote back stating this wasn't acceptable as on their website, it states that they would give a full refund if my consignment was sent on a guaranteed service and it wasn't delivered on time.

    They reply stating:
"As per my previous response, as the service chosen does not have a money back guarantee I am unable to offer a refund. Therefore as per the screen print this is not valid as the service chosen was a “non-guaranteed” service."

I am stumped. I thought a pre 9am service was guaranteed? Could anyone advise on where I should go to from here as I am very unhappy with the results to date and feel as though the compensation of basic costs incurred is the least they could do?

    Many thanks in advance
  • Don't use interparcel. I booked a next day pre 9am delivery with them and it arrived 2 working days later. And now they won't compensate for costs incurred. Terrible service and even worse customer service.

Most carriers have similar small print. Some will refund the supplement you paid to get a timed service.

RM Special Delivery has the option to pay extra for consequential loss but I don't know of any other carriers who offer this. I've no idea how you need to quantify your consequential loss to successfully claim.
  • Which courier companies would transport a sealed lead acid leisure/marine battery?
    Thanks

If you want to send multiple parcels via loads of different couriers, I'd recommend Parcelhub as they can handle bulk (say 10 or more) very well
