I've just had a bad experience with these guys. I sent a Doctor Who shrink wrapped bluray boxset to a guy in California who runs an online shop and it arrived damaged. it was insured for the full amount (£350) but the corner had a dent in it which i turn damaged the boxset inside. This was their response which is awful as it's now not worth £350....

    Dear Stuart

Thank you for your pdf with your claims information. If appears from the information you have provided that the damage is to the box itself and not to the dvd's as no mention had been made of the dvd's being damaged. I am afraid that we could not put in a claim with the carriers for £350 for a damaged cardboard box as this is not the value of the cardboard box itself.

We apologise for the damage caused but cannot proceed with a claim in this instance. We appreciate that this is not the outcome you had hoped for but wish to assure you that the majority of parcels sent through WPS arrive at their destinations in tact. Once again we apologise for any inconvenience and hope to have the opportunity in the near future to renew your faith in our services.
  • I have used Myhermes twice to collect parcels from my home, in neither case did they collect on the designated day. The first time they collected more than 24 hours late, and today they were supposed to collect before 6 pm, they didn't so my parcel will not now be collected before Monday, if in fact they do collect it then. All I have received from their customer services are excuses. I won't use them again.

I have been asked for the price to send a packet, tracked, to Saudi Arabia

It is 175 grams and 25 by 6 by 4 centimetres. Normally this size would go by Royal Mail, but they do not seem to offer a tracked service to Saudi Arabia.

I have quotes from Parcel Monkey, IPostParcels, Trans Global Express, Interparcel and Parcels2Go. The lowest is £24.

Are all these likely to be tracked? And can I do better elsewhere?

We need the weight and size of the parcel. What is the item? Many carriers exclude a lot of things from their insurance. RM has the fewest exclusions.
  • Hi everyone,

I want to send a parcel under 1kg (small to medium size) to the USA

PLEASE if anyone has any advice of the cheapest courier service, please let me know. Any loopholes etc as they are so expensive, wondering if it's worth just going via a post office and waiting longer :(

You will not beat Royal Mail on price for a small 1kg parcel to USA.
