I am trying to send a laptop from Southampton to southern France. I looked around and found Parce2go, and delivery price is around 18GBP with basic up-to-50GBP insurance cover, but if I choose to insure it for its full value of 600GBP, it goes up to over 50 quid.

Is there any cheaper/better option to have a parcel of ~3.5kg delivered to France?
Just to point out most places won't insure it no matter how much insurance you purchase. Laptops and items containing monitors and glass are under most companies excluded items list. The only people I knew who insured them went bust just before christmas.

Laptop does not contain glass, and its screen has little to do with a regular monitor.

According to ParcelQuote, your cheapest options would be :
    ParcelMonkey - £108.39
    Transglobal Express - £115.48

    Hope this helps..
