Cheap Parcel Delivery - official discussion

For such a low weight, RoyalMail is probably your best bet
The only two I could find cheaper were only slightly so:
£24.85 Transglobal Express
£24.87 P4D
P4D would be trackable and I think Transglobal would be, but not 100% sure
Hope this helps
You may well be right :beer:There's no place like home

If you are selling furniture it might not be possible to give a one off figure.
If you are expecting goods to go unboxed then you will be looking for quotes probably on a mileage basis , or man with a van type set up as you won't be able to use a standard courier. If you can box it, or pallet it then you may have more options but even then will have different rates based on recipient post code.
Also do remember that most couriers will not insure collectables or antiques against damage, only against loss. Do think it is best for the buyer to contact me before purchasing, I then get a quote and get back to them.
I have used anyvan and shiply but am not always 100% sure that my goods will ever arrive.I am only trying to help :rolleyes:0 -

is what you are selling the type of item a buyer would enquire about,or expect to click and buy in one transaction?
you could get a mainland quote before listing depending on your volumes of course0 -
I should like to phone the delivery office about 2 packets sent on 10th and 13th May, which have not arrived.
But how do I get them to answer the phone?0 -
How can I have a parcel sent from USA to UK? Any idea on cost?
I need a shoebox delivered. Not valuable and no rush.
Thanks0 -
Has anyone had any luck with My Parcels as they have just failed a collection for the third day running despite all sorts of promises. They are using citylink in this instance.0

Hey guys, a bit of advice please
A friend of mine was travelling around Australia and has now settled down on a 12 month visa, so she wants me to forward on her laptop to her. I tried a quote with parcel2go, but when I queried about what happens to the parcel if no one is in for delivery via their chat system, the person on the other end said that they don't allow transit of personal items(!)
So, I need to find someone else who will take it. I know there are issues with sending Li batteries, so I am prepared to send it without (although sending it with the battery is more desirable obviously).
Currently, sans battery, the package weights just under 4kg and is l48cm, w13cm, h34cm. It will be going from Stoke-on-Trent, UK to Perth in Australia. The laptop is worth around £300 I think, so I'd like it to be covered for this amount. Parcel2go were quoting around £56 (using FedEx economy I think) whereas FedEx themselves are upwards of £100 atm.
Any idea what is the best way to send this?
Thank you very much0 -
personal belongings to oz can be difficult as your not allowed to send them, anything send usually will incur duty and therefore be shipped as a commercial shipment.
it doesn't matter which mmethod of sending it there, there are high chances it will not even leave the uk if marked as personal effects0
