I need to post a laptop worth £780. weighs 4.5 kg and dimensions 41x30x7
I tried hermes but they only insure up to 250. Some of the others don't seem to offer extra insurance. Can anybody help?
Thanks0 -
I'm wondering if anyone has found any companies that will accept and insure parcels that contain antique silver items? Royal Mail do not insure any precious metals (gold, silver etc) or antiques not even by Special Delivery. Most other companies exclude these items too. The only one I have found is DHL which is nearly £40. The items are small between 200-500 grams including packaging.0

Are you sure Royal Mail don't insure antique silver using special delivery?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes I checked with them today by phone. Its also on the terms and conditions on the website. I was a little surprised myself as all the online gold buyers including the ones metioned on this site either use or recommend using special delivery for insured post. So beware!! If anyone knows of a cheaper service than £40 please let me know. Please note the exclusion applies to Mordern and antique gold, silver and jewellery and antiques in general as well as well as other exclusions.0 -

Anyone tried to post with royal mail since their latest hike? Sold a load of stuff on eBay, went along to the post office and they wanted over £5 to send each packet because they were over 2.5cm thick! For the same things repackaged so they're skinnier would cost just £1.80.
Most of it was only thin clothes!
Needless to say I refused and took it all back home. I'm now trying to repackage them all so they're skinnier, but if any of you know any courier services that would be a great help.0 -
myhermes & collectplus might be options, particularly if the items are medium parcels under new royal mail guidelines
it's hard to be definitive as it depends on the exact size, value & weight of your items0 -

Posting as usual, but like most regulars here I changed my prices to reflect the new prices about 2 weeks ago.
