Cheap Parcel Delivery - official discussion

I had a parcel go missing using Parcel2go and had to make a claim.
After reading on various forums in the past how bad they can be to deal with I was expecting a bit of a struggle.
Using their live chat I reported that the parcel was no longer tracking.
They opened an enquiry with the courier and in the "my account" page of my list of sendings with them a query appeared at the bottom on the missing parcel.
After 3 days it was updated by them saying that enquiries had finished and a claim had to be made.
I had to scan and upload 3 documents to the "my account " page.
The next day when I looked the documents had been marked as "approved".
There was then a gap of two weeks when nothing happened then the claim was approved and I had a choice of how I was reimbursed.
It could have been a bit quicker but all in all it was easy enough and dealt with efficiently without any phone calls or chasing.
The carrier was My Hermes and I think had I been doing this exercise direct with Hermes instead of through Parcel2go it might well have been a whole lot more painful.0 -
Does anyone here use a fulfilment house to organise deliveries and in particular does anyone have experience of Cloud fulfilment https://www.cloudfulfilment.co.uk who offer their services to ebayers?0

I'm looking to sell a pushchair and carrycot on ebay. I've listed for collection in person and while I got plenty of interest, didn't achieve my desired price.
I'm therefore thinking about delivery. However, I don't have, and can't find boxes big enough to fit the pushchair or carrycot in. I'm therefore wondering if this would actually be necessary for a courier? Also, would you pay total weight for both or individual weight for each when pricing up the quote?
Any advice greatly appreciated

I need to send a parcel of weight 2.7kg, dims 70/17/20cm to Europe, inc. cover for £60-70.
Please can anyone update me on the cheapest reliable option?
Interparcel got one for £16+VAT just wondering if there is a better one available?
Many thanks!!
Europe is a big place so you really need to tell us the country - France or Greece makes a difference.
Anyway I would try the normal suspects - parcelmonkey and world wide parcel services spring to mind and would be on my list.0 -

Depends on who you send it with. Many require a box so you need to read all the small print for the one you have chosen - BUT - even if you do not box it I guess you want it to get there undamaged and not scratched so it is in your interests to pack it well and a box ticks all the boxes as they say..
All couriers have maximum sizes and I would think these two items will be too big to go as one.0 -

I am trying to send a laptop from Southampton to southern France. I looked around and found Parce2go, and delivery price is around 18GBP with basic up-to-50GBP insurance cover, but if I choose to insure it for its full value of 600GBP, it goes up to over 50 quid.
Is there any cheaper/better option to have a parcel of ~3.5kg delivered to France?0 -
Hi all,
I have tried quite a few of the parcel companies in the past, and the one I find most competative on price with a great service is ipostparcels.com . Admittedly the prices for the smaller packets/jiffy bags is cheaper with the post office. But anything above about 1KG is always a good price. And you get the added bonus that it is next day and fully tracked as part of the service.
They regulaly email out discount codes as well, making there prices even cheaper. The current discount code is SHOW20. If i remember correctly you enter this code in at the checkout and you will get 20% off the order.
My worst experience has to be with My Hermes, even though they claim 3-5 days (which is long enough as it is), I find that it can be anywhere up to 10 days.
Thanks.

Your postings / threads on here are not allowed, and I have reported all 3 from today which all advertise the same company....Hopefully other posters will report your posts too, as you are a spammer.
Oh and I am very pleased with MyHermes...In fact my parcels ALWAYS get to recipients 2-3 working days after I leave them at my local drop off point, and I use them 3-4 times a week, and have done so every week since last November. All you need is love (and chocolate)0 -

I haven't used them before but Parcel Monkey looks slightly cheaper for that weight, around 11.80GBP (although not knowing your dimensions I can't be 100% sure)0
