I need to send a minimum of 4 boxes from Philippines to UK weighing 25Kg each

    Sizes are 50 x 45 x 36 cms each

3 boxes contain low value secondhand items and are not urgent, but one box will contain a computer (all in one type)

Has anybody got recommendations for a courier or broker to use, best quote I has was £481 (we deliver the world/fastlane couriers)

Preferred delivery time within 10 days

    Thanks

From my own exeprience of working for one of the big internationals 20 years ago, you can request that they pick anything up anywhere in the world, and have it delivered anywhere in the world, providing that all the criteria are met.

That would probably entail a full description of the goods, the correct paperwork, and for them most importantly, the fee for their services.

Contact the likes of FedEx, or UPS directly for further information.

    Quinny,

I have shipped boxes from US and UK to Philippines before by sea freight (door to door), and even suitcases by air courier when travelling to save lugging them about and paying Airline Excess Baggage fees.

I checked out DHL, TNT, UPS and Fast Lane Couriers this time but Fast Lane used to be at least 20 to 30% cheaper, but not anymore.

DHL do a similar price so may go direct with them, Fast Lane use DHL and TNT.

What I was hoping for was to find a courier who could do a better price for consolidated as I don't need the 2 day delivery, 7 to 14 days would do

Most couriers and brokers offer online forms now, I already have some printed out. Do you have any idea of who offers consolidated rates for 4 boxes please?

    Thanks

Sadly not, although I suspect that the price you have been quoted isn't a bad one, having just looked around myself.

You could send it sea freight, but it could take many many weeks, and could well be considerably more.

  • Hi all,

Had a parcel shipped to me via TNT POST - seller sent on the 24th January,

Seller send a lot of books via ebay, at least 1.000 a month,

The book i ordered arrive today, 05/02/2013,

So There was 2 labels, 1 which was TNT and then next to it a Myhemes Label,

the enclosed invoice was sticky backed and was missing the TNT Label printed by the seller and placed on the envelope,

So where did the Myhermes label come from, my guess is TNT they are taking payment for parcels, then sub contracting this out to a cheaper company, not only a cheaper company by myhermes!

There is probably be somthing in the terms of service of TNT saying they reserve the right to sub-contract parcel to 3rd partys,

But if you pay for TNT you should get TNT not myhermes!

I am willing to bet myhermes does not sub-contract its parcels, there is no-one cheaper or worse! My opinion!

Anyone else seen evidence of Pay TNT get Myhermes?

    regards

I have had small packages from the Netherlands sent by TNT POST (and POST is an important word) delivered by Royal Mail.
  • So basic's are, you pay for Steak and get a Value Beef Burger just as long as the company concerned Earns out of you,

If i want to use TNT then I expect TNT to Deliver, Not Myhermes! This is misleading even if its in the terms and conditions, subbing the service is fine, as long as you get better service or quality, your not!

They are charging for 1 service and offering something different,

its bad news for all, maybe customers should choose more carefully who they use!
  • Can I just make a few corrections here:
    a) your parcel was TNT, not TNT Post, 2 different companies
    b) myHermes don't deliver parcels, only Hermes UK
    c) TNT reserve the right to subcontract the delivery of your parcel as long as the subcontractor can offer equal standard of service.

The way TNT's agreement works is that they deliver them to Hermes, who then process them as an overnight parcel like any other overnight they have, giving them priority over most other parcels in the network, therefore offering an equivalent level of service.

The problem you have is your local driver, which can happen with any delivery firm, however Hermes' drivers are often the best as they only get paid when the parcel's delivered, whereas TNT's drivers get paid by the hour.

And Hermes do subcontract. Their larger parcels go to UPS.

don't care they are bad bad and more bad

The TNT Post are only as good as Hermes, not a good standard to look up too

wow must be part of the firm then, your cover is blown!
  • I was wondering if anyone could offer advice?

I'm looking to sell a pushchair and carrycot on ebay. I've listed for collection in person and while I got plenty of interest, didn't achieve my desired price.

I'm therefore thinking about delivery. However, I don't have, and can't find boxes big enough to fit the pushchair or carrycot in. I'm therefore wondering if this would actually be necessary for a courier? Also, would you pay total weight for both or individual weight for each when pricing up the quote?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    Thanks
