Dickens World was shut! Crazy during half-term week. Still, it saved me about £27 and we just looked round the shops and didn't spend anything. We've had fish and chips (£11.10) for dinner and the girls are now playing schools upstairs. There's been loads of giggling going on but they are reasonably quiet now. God knows what time they will get to sleep.....

So just a night of slobbing on the sofa and scoffing chocolate for me. Perfect....

Not much doing here today really. The girls woke up after me but didn't go to sleep until half one this morning so understandable really.

I changed the beds and did some more washing then dd and I popped into town. I bought sme new trainers for cycling in sp0rts direct (£20.69 down from £50), some cod liver oil capsules and non-alcoholic ginger wine - yummy and with a real kick (£7.63) and some bits from tesc0 (£5.34) and some from wilk0s (£8.39).

When we got home we made spiced apple loaf (recipe from the OS board) - it was absolutely delicious - really moist. Then we had our fajitas with our butcher shop chicken - again really nice but a bit spicy for dd. There's some left over so I have frozen the chicken and peppers and will have that another night.

DD has gone to bed - I think she'll sleep well tonight :)

    Where have you gone?!:D
    Happy mothers day:beer:

    Thank you!

Sorry I have been so AWOL but I haven't really felt like posting. DD had some trouble at school (from the same girl that came round for a sleepover) and I've been worried about her, have felt a bit under the weather too - I didn't really feel like coming on here and moaning about everything

Thankfully dd seems to be coming through the latest problems. This girl was her best friend but always used to blow hot and cold and dd never really knew how she was going to be from one day to the next. The Monday after the sleepover this girl completely blanked her and I think she's just decided she's had enough now. She's found a variety of other children to play with at lunchtime and if she does have to go on her own she's ok with that. The funny thing now is the other girl is being nice to her all the time. I think dd standing up to her has shocked her a bit and she's probably regretting behaving as she has. I'm hoping that in the long run this is a good thing for dd and will give her the self-confidence to realise that it's ok to do things on your own and that you don't have to settle for a carp friend rather than being on your own. She's fine in herself so hopefully it's onwards and upwards.

I have been managing to get out on my bike once a week and doing at least 15 miles a time. On Saturday I got a puncture which was really annoying as I was on course to do about 23 miles. I've got it fixed but next month I will be treating myself to some virtually puncture resistant tyres. They will be about £60 a pair but as it costs £10 a time to fix the tyre in the bike shop (wouldn't know where to start to do it myself) they will pay for themselves within a year (I've had 2 punctures already). Besides it will be worth it for the peace of mind alone :)

I've also signed up for the London to Brighton bike ride - it's 54 miles

I've been a bit spendy recently which is a sign I'm cheering up :D I finally bit the bullet and bought myself some skinny jeans. They were from Ada's, only £14 and they are pale blue denim. I actually think they look really nice on providing I wear a top that covers my backside which I am a bit self-conscious about. Anyway i am really pleased i bought them. I might even get some black ones :D

We popped into Sainsbugs on saturday for some rosemary for the lamb I was doing yesterday and I bought a leather (effect) jacket :o No rosemary though. The leather jacket is L-U-S-H though, short, cream, a couple of zips. I love it!

So, what with one thing and another we are down to about £28 in the fun account which will more than cover next Sunday's roller-skating (80s theme - gonna wear my skinny jeans ;)). I shouldn't need to spend much more money this month. We still have enough in the grocery account, the car was filled up on Saturday, all other bills are paid and it is payday on 22nd. If the CSA come up trumps and pay on time 3 months running I will be laughing....

Anyway, I had a lovely mother's day yesterday, DD made me breakfast in bed, did the washing up after breakfast AND dinner and also did the hoovering. I got flowers, my favourite chocs, some home-made gifts and a card addressed to 'brilliant mother'. She is so funny sometimes :rotfl:

We have a reasonable amount of snow. I nearly crashed the car when i went to pick dd up from brownies. I turned into a parking space and the car just carried on sliding. I slammed on the brakes and just waited for it to hit the car next to it when by some miracle it stopped about 6 inches in front of it. I was so relieved i could have cried. I think the person in the other car was pretty relieved too. I hate driving in the snow. The village i work in is at the bottom of a really steep hill that doesn't get gritted. Super. It is a blizzard outside now so goodness knows how bad it'll be by tomorrow morning...I'm fed up with winter now, I want spring to be here.

Hooray, you're back:D missed your updates;)

The sainsbo's jacket sounds lovely - I want a tan leather look short one for spring...will look in there for one:)

Your dd is lovely, what cute things she did on Mother's Day. We were at my sisters and got home in the afternoon - dd2 cooked dinner (with just a little help from me) and dd1 washed and cleared up...and they bought some lovely pressies, I did well too:D

Fingers crossed to CSA money being on time, my ex has been very good recently, paying his way and also now pays half of girls phone contracts....can't really moan about him (well, money wise, he's still a numpty;))

Looks like we both have lovely dds. I'm glad you had a nice day too.

I won £72.50 on the gee gees today :j Got a tip from a bloke at work and thought 'what the heck, I'll do a fiver each way'. I looked in a Wi11iam Hi11 account that I must have opened to bet on the Grand National last year and there was a tenner in there already - must have been the free £10 they give you when you place your first bet - anyway it came in first :T So it didn't cost me a thing!

Anyway that will definitely see us OK through till next Friday.

Spends today is £19. For red nose day on friday dd has got to wear something red - she has no clothes in red and the only things we could find in sainbugs was some shorts (2 pair pack - £10) and t-shirts (set of 3 £9). She'll look nice.

The snow has almost gone now thank goodness.

This is the third one I've had to buy in the last year so I hope this one lasts a bit longer.
    .

Opposite problem here, I can't seem to use up any form of beauty product even electrical ones. I have a few spare hairdryers!!

I must be the worlds cleanest woman.

Along with all the regular washing, I've also had to wash my cycle stuff (covered in mud

:rotfl:I'm also finding that my new gym habit is creating extra laundry.

Just got home and got the next year's water bill in. Only £24.35 per month which is good. Gone up a little from this year's but we still aren't on a meter (although Southern Water keep threatening it). It will go up then.

Also got my ISA statement through from $antander. I have the grand total of 64p in there :rotfl: does not even seem worth writing to them to close the account down.

Spends today was lunch out £4.20 (friday treat) and £14.23 in sainsbugs - had a horrendous day at work and didn't leave till nearly 6 so no time to get to a1di. Just went into sainsbugs for some milk and ended up buying 3 pairs of knickers, 2 pots of houmous and a bag of spinach :o The milk tides us over till we can get to A1di tomorrow, the houmous and spinach covers some of my lunches next week and the knickers will cover my backside :D

DD forgot to take her red nose into school today and was a bit upset about it. When i got home she said 'thanks for dropping off a red nose for me'. I told her it wasn't me and she said that someone had dropped one off with her name on it. Turns out my friend who we wait with in the morning, had been off work today and he'd popped into sainsbugs, bought her a new one and dropped it off. I thought that was such a lovely thing to do and we were both really touched by it.

It has been really miserable here today and is going to be the same tomorrow so we are going to do the food shop and pop into town. Sunday is supposed to be dry so I will get out on my bike in the morning then we are roller skating in the afternoon.
