Got our hair cut - dd had about 5 inches off hers and it looks lovely. I just had a teeny weeny trim. Total cost for the two of us - £10. Super :) Just as well because our hairdryer broke yesterday and I've had to buy another one this afternoon. Found one reduced from £35 to £23 and I had a £2 till spit so it wasn't quite as painful as it could have been. This is the third one I've had to buy in the last year so I hope this one lasts a bit longer.

I went for my bike ride. We did 22 miles and some of it I found really tough. There was one hill on the way back that was such hard work and if I'd been on my own I would probably have got off and pushed the bike up the hill but I was determined not to get off! I learnt a bit about cycling and it was just really nice having a chat - he'd already cycled 40 miles in the morning! It's a bit weird seeing a bloke who's got better legs than me though :rotfl: My own legs are feeling it now and I think I will sleep well tonight.

Just in the middle of dyeing my hair. I've gone for a slightly different colour so I'm hoping it's going to look OK......watch this space.

  • I had my hair cut too yesterday, I wish I'd gone for a teeny trim like you, I had about 2 inches off and long layers in but I'm not happy:( Fab price for your haircuts... I though £20 was ok for mine:o I do only go about once every 6months so not too bad really.

So, how was it meeting up with the chap after so many years? Is there any chance of any romance or just friendly cycling buddies?
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Our hairdresser comes to our house and it is only £10 for a cut and blowdry anyway but I had hardly any off so I think that's why she charges us £10 for both of us. I'm not sure about my hair colour though. It's dark brown with a coppery red tinge to it which is quite obvious on the new hair coming through at the roots. Hmmm...I will probably re-do it in my normal brown/black during the week....

No there's no romance with the cyclist. It was easier talking than I thought but that's not what I was after - I just wanted to go on a different route and it was an added bonus going with someone who knows what they are doing. I didn't ask but it's possible that he has a girlfriend - god I hope he didn't think I was after anything more??????

I seem to have done nothing but washing this weekend - both myself and laundry :rotfl: Yesterday I had 2 showers and a bath! First shower in the morning so hair was washed ready for the hairdresser, a bath in the afternoon after my cycle ride and a shower in the evening to wash off the hair dye. I must be the worlds cleanest woman. Or I might shrink if I'm not careful. Still going to jump in the shower again in a bit though...

Along with all the regular washing, I've also had to wash my cycle stuff (covered in mud), towels (covered in hair dye) and dd's onesie as it's onesie weekend at roller skating this afternoon :rotfl:

After my shower I'm going to make some soup from some butternut squash that I have had sitting on the side for weeks...if not months...hope it's OK

So nice to be able to get in and have nothing to do but start cooking dinner :) as a result I had dinner on the table before 6.30 (no mean feat in this house) and we are all cleared up and I have just finished ironing the bedding so the evening is my own :)

DD has just called me mean because last night I confiscated her kindle for 2 days because she'd left it on her bedroom floor and just stood on it. Hopefully this will teach her to appreciate it more. She's certainly missing it anyway.

Got another text from CSA today and another week's money will be paid this week. I really don't understand why it is paid in a 3 week chunk followed a day later by a 1 week chunk. At least it is being paid though and that is the main thing.

So for the second month in a row I am actually still in credit before payday!!

Haha dd has just come down with an apology note and said if I give the kindle back she will give me £3 :rotfl:

I might have a look through all my old paperwork and see if I can be cheeky and claim back some ppi on a loan that I paid off 9 years ago. They can only say no.

Grrr...I am far too organised. About a year ago I had a really good cull of all my paperwork. I thought I'd have a look for some M&S card statements that I paid off ages ago and I can't find them anywhere. I know I shredded loads of stuff so perhaps they were among all that stuff...so annoying because they were kicking around for ages.

I might just chance my arm and send a letter off anyway. It's not that I actually need the money but if I'm due anything it could go towards our holiday.

Not much to report here. A NSD and went for my second run of the week. I'll do my last one tomorrow weather permitting.

I've shuffled loads of money around in readiness for payday on Friday. I've put money by for house bills and mortgage, holiday, after school club fees, groceries, car and petrol and emergency. I've also paid my friend back (straight onto her credit card - very MSE) for the Fleetwood Mac tickets. Feel very calm moneywise :)

Where is everyone? Hardly any of my subscribed threads have been updated...

I'm on holiday for 2 days now. DD has a friend coming round later. We are going to the cinema this afternoon. I will book the film up through Quidc0 and we'll take our own snacks and drinks. Another friend is coming round tomorrow and staying for a sleepover.

Yesterday I bought a case for my phone so that I can strap it to my bike when I go out. I've got an app that tracks and measures my ride. I reserved it through Quidc0 at Ha1fords and picked it up yesterday. There was 20% off and 4% cashback so quite a bargain.

We also popped into Lid1 and got a few bits there - total spend £12.97.

I have pole tonight and there is a man that wants to do a feature on our group so could be interesting.

Following cooltrikerchick's thread on butchers over on the grocery board I am going to start using our local butcher again. We are lucky that there are some decent ones round here - I just need to try them all out and see which one is good for us.

Busy couple of days for you Poles :)

I keep thinking about the butchers (we have a really good one in our town) It's on my to-do list along with seven thousand other things :D

You just prompted me - I must update my diary at some point today before I start to lose focus !
The final chapter - £4893 to go out of £30K

After taking what seemed like ages to get moving this morning I have well and truly caught up with myself.

We got our food shop done. Came in at £45.99 which was over my budget but there was loads of fish and stuff so that's all gone in the freezer and there's more than a week's worth there.

Then we went to the butcher in the next village. There's parking outside so saved on parking. The queue was almost out of the door when we got there despite having 3 people serving so that was a really good sign. I had to ask for the equivalent weight from metric to imperial (should have done my research first :o) and in the end I bought 1lb mince which I have already made into a chilli and portioned up and 1lb diced chicken that we can do fajitas with tomorrow night. I really just wanted to see what sort of things they had and there's loads of different things so we are going to try something new every week. I feel quite wholesome for going there.

Next we popped into the c0-0p for a tin of tomatoes for the chilli and they wanted 77p for one tin  A1di has spoilt me and there's no way I was paying that and as I remembered I had a carton of passata in the cupboard we just bought a bag of baking potatoes (95p) and left.

So I've made the chilli and it's been portioned up into 6 more meals working out at 63p a portion. Don't know if that's good or not - probably is considering it's good quality meat.

DD's friend has just arrived and when my washing machine has finished and I've hung all the clothes up to dry we are going to Dickens World.

It's been snowing for the last few hours nothing settling yet.
