As the title says really. Now I'm debt free I need to stay that way! I hope no one minds me staying on this board - it's the one that motivates me most
I still think it's going to be a pretty rocky ride...

A quick bit about me - 40 year old single mum to 8 year old dd, working full time, interests include cycling, pole fitness, roller skating, running and so I don't sound like a complete fitness freak I also enjoy eating out and slobbing on the sofa scoffing chocolate
Off to catch up on some other diaries and maybe even impart some of my DF wisdom :rotfl:

Friday night is food shop night so I went to A1di armed with my shopping list and my £5 voucher (from yesterday's Mirr0r). Total shop after discounts was £40.74. I'm really happy with that. I got quite a lot of xmassy bits, cheeses, biscuits, 'posh' cranberry sauce, gammon, a rolled pork joint, chocolate santa and coins and advent calender for dd. So, lots of extras and still was only just over my £40 weekly budget. I've updated my cashbook and I'll transfer over the money spent from the food account.
I'm a bit annoyed that I haven't had the extra money from the CSA. They only paid 2 weeks worth last week and I have been hoping that the shortfall will turn up but so far it hasn't. I'll just have to tighten my belt a bit more. I think child benefit should go in on Tuesday so that will help. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Thanks beanielou and welcome
DD and I have been into town already this morningI took out £20 cash and I got my eyebrows threaded (£3), some cord for my nephew's shepherd costume (£2.25), a few grocery bits in Mr T (£5.74 included biscuits for their foodbank thing) and some Th0rnton chocs and card for my frined in Wilk0s (£3). Car park was £2  - it's gone up just before xmas.
It was very empowering going round Mr T with just the cash. Usually I would have put it all on my card (and shoved a few extra treats in the basket) and worried about it later. Now I've got all the bits I needed and still got some cash left.
We are off to the village where I work this afternoon to see the xmas lights be switched on. There's a carnival, loads of crafts for the children and tea and mince pies and carol singing in the church. It's really lovely and gets you right in the xmas spirit :T I will need to take some money with me for that - £10 should do it. Fortunately my sister owes me £17 (we are going to a roller disco tomorrow) and also £2.25 for the shepherd outfit cord. So that should all almost cover what I have spent today
DD and I have just done her maths homework, I am sitting here with a nice cuppa and Saturday kitchen on the box. Just off for a little mooch around the boards. Hope everyone has a lovely weekendIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Your afternoon sounds lovely, very festive. Dd1 and I are just back from shopping in Bristol, we were there very early so shops were fine for a while, but we had had enough by 1 and were on the park and ride home;) It was rather Christmassy in town though, Salvatian army were playing carols and there was a German market there...I'm tempted to dig out the Xmas tree this afternoon:rotfl:
Enjoy your afternoon:)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

You found me! :T
Our afternoon was lovely. DD visited santa (i'm not sure if she still believes ), we looked round the craft fair and had a cuppa and a mince pie in the church. Then we went outside and there was a marching band, then the choir started singing and then it was the countdown for the lights. By this time my feet were getting really cold and then it started to hail! It all looked really lovely and I'm starting to feel quite festive now. :snow_laug
I still haven't warmed up though, despite putting my PJs on as soon as we got home. I might go to bed soon. Rock n rollIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
