Trying not to fall off the DF wagon

Hello
Have started to read your diary and will subscribe if that's ok.
How do you get your groceries so low? I know Mr Ald1 helps a lot, I went there last night for Christmas meat etc. Can't remember I did a full shop anywhere else, although I do get bits and bobs from other places.
The pole classes sound good. Something I've wanted to try, but size 16 me wouldn't be prettyMaybe a few stone less of me and I'll have a go.

Hello Shelski and welcome
Groceries - meal plan and go with a list. There is only me and dd so that probably helps keep the costs down. I do literally buy just what we need, only sometimes sneaking in a few treats :shhh: I have tried a couple of times doing a full shop elsewhere but even when I've been really careful it still depresses me at the till when it comes in so high.
Most pole classes you can can do a 'taster session' to see if you like it. Don't worry about being a size 16 - there are all shapes, sizes and ages in the classes I have been in and they really have no bearing on what you can do. I can't stress enough how much of a confidence boost it can give you so give it a tryIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
We did our secret santa at work today. My present was nipple tassels and a vajazzle :rotfl:I think someone has the wrong idea about me
I have finally managed to sneak dd's last couple of presents into the house. I will wrap them up tomorrow.
Out for a meal tonight. I'm all showered and getting picked up at 7.30. Just had a small bowl of cereal and a glass of milk. If I get too hungry I get really bad stomach pains so trying to avoid that tonight.
I've taken out £40 but am hoping I won't need to spend all that. If anything I'd like some to be left over to go towards the food shop tomorrow but we shall see. Who knows what errors of judgement I will make once I've had a few
Not going to my friend's tomorrow as her dd has come down with the bug. I can feel another lazy saturday coming on....
Right, must put face on and dry hair, sort handbag blah blah blah........It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Well I had a lovely evening, so nice to be able to have a proper chat for a change rather than 5 minutes in the school playground. And I still came home with a tenner
Have showered and just having breakfast and watching some TV. I need to delete a load of stuff from the TiVo box because we are up to 62% already. Then I'm going to get this weeks tv guide and set up a load of new stuff.:D
The house desperately needs a good tidy up and I want to change the beds at some point this weekend. Food shop later and then a lazyish day. I think slobbing on the sofa with some xmas films on the tv could be a nice way to spend the rest of the day. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
TiVo is now down to 19%. Cancelled loads of series links. I really do watch some carp
I've set up to record A Christmas Carol later this evening.
Still sitting here in my PJs. Must wrap up dd's last 2 presents, put up the cards that have been sitting on the side all week. I will strip the beds in a moment but might not remake them yet. It's the only way I'll definitely re-do them laterIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Sounds much like my morning
Have all my favourite Christmas films to record and am still sat in my pjs
Just doing my food shop list and I plan to hit Mr T @ about 10pm ...... JoyThen I have to START wrapping ..... I love wrapping but trying to do it in secret is just a pain ....
Enjoy your lazy dayThe final chapter - £4893 to go out of £30K0 -
Food shop came in at £25.31 which is good considering I'd allowed £40 but if I'd gone on my own it would have been a lot lower.
It has been raining all day here. We had our lazy day but dd went from being bored to being extremely excited and then it went through the day on a loop, bored, excited, bored, excited...I shouldn't complain...
I have really hurt my shoulder. It started hurting yesterday and it has been getting steadily worse as today has gone on. It feels OK if I point my arm in the air but I can't stay like that all the time! V0ltarol and Deap heet have not really touched it.
I've come to bed now (nice clean bedding mmmm) and will have a mooch round the boards before nodding off with the light still on which seems to becoming a bit of a habit these days....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
We have had a lovely day today. Went with a friend to see another friend for coffee and mince pies, back to the first friend's for lunch then a nice long walk through the country lanes. It felt nice to do some exercise as I haven't really done anything this last week with my cough and aches. I am going to try to get out on my bike by the end of next week.
After driving me to distraction all day, my shoulder has now stopped hurting?? Having said that I have taken some cold & flu tablets because I started to feel rough again so maybe that's why it's stopped hurting.
I've just finished all the ironing and the last of the bedding is just finishing off in the washing machine so we will have clean bedding ready (bar ironing) for when we come back home after xmas.
Now just slobbing on the sofa mindlessly eating chocolates. Oh well, start as you mean to go on.It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
You're doing better than me - I meant to change the beds...but haven't, and there's still piles of ironing:o I did do some yesterday - the bits we need, the huge pile of girls' school shirts can jus wait:D
When will you be home after Xmas? We are going to mums on Xmas day, late morning, then home at lunchtime on the 27th and girls will go to their dads then for the night. He's going in to work in morn on the 28th though so I said I'll meet girls in town for a wander round the sale...so I'm not on my own for long:D
If I don't catch you before - I hope you and dd have a very lovely xmas:xmassmile:xmassmileI really need to sort out a new signature!0
