Trying not to fall off the DF wagon

It's sunny but frosty down here in Kent today, perfect weather for a bike ride - just as well I'm going on one
Hoping to do at least 10 miles today
I love my bike I doIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
We did just over 13 miles :T Visually it was a beautiful day, physically it was absolutley freeeeeezing. I definitely need some full-finger gloves.
In the afternoon we took my 4 year old nephew roller skating for the first time. We had a lovely time - he didn't have as good a time :rotfl:still he's tried it and maybe when he's a little older he'll have another go. Spends was just £6.50 on roller skating.
Busy day at work today. I think I only had about 15 mins for lunch.
Spends today = £2.50 for dd's brownies. That has reminded me that I owe her £2 for that. It will have to come out of the hedgehog £2 fund as I don't have any cash in my purse. Also ordered some stuff for my friend off amaz0n because thgere's something wrong with her card. I'll collect the cash for that later.
I have an hour or so to myself while dd is at brownies. There's a risotto on the hob so i will eat that while I have a wander round the other diaries. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Slightly less hectic day at work yesterday so I did a bit shopping
. I had a bit of a dilemma though. I'd seen a dress in mata1an about 2 months ago and I thought it would be perfect for xmas. It was £30 - just about my limit. Looked on the website yesterday and it had been reduced to £20 and had 3 really great reviews. If I went to the shop I could get another 10% off reducing it to £18. Brilliant I thought but then i started worrying that what if I got to the shop and they didn't have my size I would have had a wasted trip then what if they'd also run out online??? Problem was if I ordered it online I wouldn't get my extra 10% off and I'd also have to pay £3.50 delivery making it £5.50 more expensive than it needed to be. I bottled out and ordered it online
but the MSE'r in me is annoyed because I paid more even though it is still £6.50 cheaper than the original price
Just hope it fits now!
Had a great pole class last night. I managed to everything that was asked apart from a slightly dangerous trick that found a tiny bit scary. My collarbone is aching today but I di have a great workout which is just as well because I haven't been for any runs this week and don't think I will until it warms up a bit.
I also reserved some fairy lights at H0mebase that were reduced to half-price :T. I want to put them round my fireplace and hopefully leave them up all year round as I always miss the tree lights when the tree comes down. They've got a clear flex so will be perfect. Total cost with batteries £12.48.
Have only just sat down this evening. Picked dd up from ASC, came home and cleaned the bathroom, cooked dinner, cleared up, put dd to bed and did some ironing.
I'm on track for getting in to bed at 10. I've had much better night's sleeps since I've been doing this. No more playing on my phone or laptap once I'm up there - I just read. I think I will make up a hot water bottle though even though it's not cold up there - just makes it cosierIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I have been really naughty and ordered another dress!! I saw it briefly on the MandS advert this morning and I tracked it down this lunchtime and ordered it  It is gorgeous though and if it fits it will be well worth the £65 :shhh: and if it doesn't I will return it. I did go through Quidc0 and got 10% cashback and it's tracked already so it's not all bad...
I also ordered a bracelet that will be for me from my mum and dad for xmas. It's a special magnetic one and is supposed to help with migraines. It's very contemporary looking and is silver with little swarovski crystals set in every few links. If it doesn't help the migraines I will still have a lovely looking bracelet - win:win
After all this spending I have had to do the bank account shuffle. My mum has already given me a cheque for the bracelet so I will pay that in tomorrow. I have updated my cashbook so I can hopefully stay on track for the rest of the month
So, not much going on savings wise but I did rescue the plug from a kettle that was being thrown out at work so I could have the fuse. You can never have too many spare fuses
Tonight I have hoovered all through, cooked dinner and written all my xmas cards. I will mop the floors before I go up to bed.
Still no sign of maintenance shortfall grrrr...It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Got my A1di shop done tonight and it came in at £39.82. I still need a few other bits but that total included loads of cheese, choccies and savoury bits for xmas
My mata1an dress arrived today and it fits but I'm wondering if it's a but short. The boys at work said it looked great (I think the shorter the better was the general consensus) but I'm still not sure. I think I'll have to change it for the 12 which means driving to the next town tomorrow. I doubt if the 12 will be any longer but I might feel a bit more comfy in it. Only problem is the one I bought was reduced to £20 and it has now gone back up to £30 so I am going to lose out a bit. Hmmm....
Lots to do tomorrow so I need a list:-
Mata1an
Supermarket
Library
Put tree and deccies up
Make mince pies with dd
Dye hair
Change beds
DD is going to the pantomime with my mum on Sunday so I am going to meet my ex (known on here as WLM) for lunch. He's been doing up a house to sell and I have helped a bit with it but haven't seen the finished product yet so it will be exciting to see that. Afterwards I'm going roller skating with my friend and her dd.
Think that's all for now...It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Oooh re the dress....is the extra 1cm length you might get in the 12 worth an extra £10?! I can't imagine you need to wear a 12 anyway now young laydee:)
I wish we had an ald1 round here - maybe I'd be able to spend less on food:o I have £31 left in the grocery account til next Thurs in theory (assuming I don't 'borrow' from another account) - that £31 won't go far in T's really. I'll see what I can do with what we have in already.
Enjoy doing your tree - we did ours this afternoon...well, I say 'we', but really it was me doing it, while dd2 helped a bit and dd1, as she does every year, did absolutely nothing! Now we're in a bigger house, our decorations don't go very far - it's not exactly overflowing with decorations here;) I still have bags of tinsel though, do you think if I drape that everywhere it'll make the place more festive?!:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

You know when visually something looks great on but I'm thinking how I'm going to feel when I'm all bloated out with food and alcohol  Also the thing we're going to is called Midnight in Monte Carlo and there's going to be dodgems, racing car simulators and roulette tables. Can just see me falling out of a dodgem with my already short dress up by my waist :rotfl:. I might go for a few runs next week and stay off the chocolate and then it might feel ok.
I just LOVE A1diI'm sure you can make your £31 last till Thursday - you are the MSE'r I get all my motivation from!
I just drape tinsel every where as I refuse to put thumb tacks into my lovely smooth plastered ceiling. I've bought some fairy lights to go round the fireplace and what with our purple xmas tree and the pole in the middle of the room the place will resemble a night club :rotfl:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

The length of the dress doesn't care how you're feeling. Also the thing we're going to is called Midnight in Monte Carlo and there's going to be dodgems, racing car simulators and roulette tables. Can just see me falling out of a dodgem with my already short dress up by my waist :rotfl:.
The extra centimetre will make all the difference there...I might go for a few runs next week and stay off the chocolate and then it might feel ok.
You do that. And wear it. You'll feel better for it.I've bought some fairy lights to go round the fireplace and what with our purple xmas tree and the pole in the middle of the room the place will resemble a night club :rotfl:
All you need then is music, alcofrolic drink, and pole dancing..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Busy busy day today. We got up at 7am and hit the ground running and literally haven't stopped all day. I'm sitting here now with the hair dye developing.
I changed the dress. The 12 was too big up top (typical) so I tried on another 3 dresses and it was the final one that looked good. It will do for now if i) the MandS dress is no good and ii) I can't find anything when i go shopping on Wednesday. I hate panic buying frocks and I end up doing it every yearGood thing was that my refund included the delivery charge and I was able to use my 10% voucher for the new dress so they ended up refunding me £1.90 :T
Popped to M's for extra grocery bits and spent £14.65.
Changed our library books and came home, had lunch and started on the tree. It's all twinkly and purple here now. Very nice even if it is a little tacky.....;)
Then we made mince pies - first time for both of us and they were really nice. We've watched 2 xmas films and dd cried at the end of both of them, bless her.
Have changed beds so everything is all nice upstairs too.
Then I cooked a roast for dinner! I am in serious danger of becoming domesticated at this rate
Just got about another 20 mins for the dye to develop. Then when I've rinsed off and sorted out the damage in the bathroom I might even do the ironingIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
