I hate panic buying frocks and I end up doing it every year :)

Which means you love it really... ;)

It's all twinkly and purple here now. Very nice even if it is a little tacky.....;)

If the rest of your life is tasteful, then it's good to have something tacky to bring the taste into focus.

    Honest...

We've watched 2 xmas films and dd cried at the end of both of them, bless her.

She's strong willed. I normally cry when I see the opening credits on Christmas films...

Then I cooked a roast for dinner! I am in serious danger of becoming domesticated at this rate :D

You can use it to contrast with the naughtyness and bring that into sharper focus... ;)

Changed our library books and came home, had lunch and started on the tree. It's all twinkly and purple here now. Very nice even if it is a little tacky.....;)

Then we made mince pies - first time for both of us and they were really nice :). We've watched 2 xmas films and dd cried at the end of both of them, bless her.

    :p

We're going for the tacky look too - I can't do classy decorations;)

We always make mince pies too, they're lovely the home made ones, even if ours do look a bit rough round the edges:rotfl:

Noooooo, don't do it - ironing that is! Not on a Saturday night, it's not aloowed:D I'm on the sofa, wine in hand, waiting for pizza:)
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Sadly yes :( If I lie in I can almost guarantee I will get a migraine.

I could certainly do with some naughtiness in my life right now ;)

Glad it's not just us. Every year I think we'll get a real tree and have everything co-ordinated then it gets to December and realise there's far more urgent things to spend the money on - like party frocks ;);) and that idea goes out of the window.

I'm not sure if ours could even be classed as home-made - we bought ready-rolled pastry and a jar of mincemeat :o they were still rough round the edges though :rotfl:

I did do it :o but I'm so glad I did because I have virtually the whole day to myself tomorrow and it would be a shame to ruin it with ironing. I'm going to go for a bike ride first thing, meet WLM for lunch then go roller skating in the afternoon with my friend :)

Guess who's back :hello: Just posted on your old thread, so happy to see that you and DD are well and now debt free.

I got out of the daily MSE habit, logged in less and less and eventually not at all. My debt situation isn't any worse but money is tighter than ever so I'm going to get a new diary for 2013 started in the next few days. So glad my MSE friends from before are still here to chat to :)

I've had a really busy week. Will try to summarise....

Sunday - went for 13 mile bike ride and felt very virtuous. Had lunch with WLM (he'd bought all my favourite picky bits) at his recently finished house and he offered to pick me up from my works xmas party on Friday :T. Went roller skating afterwards with my friend and her dd, was so weird going without my dd who was at the panto with my mum.

Monday - had dd's brownie xmas fair in the evening. They sang carols, manned stalls where they sold things they'd made. It was lovely and I'm so pleased that she's settled in so well there.

Tuesday - not much to report but had another great pole class in the evening.

Wednesday - I had the day off because it was dd's xmas concert. I was really proud of her - she had 2 lines and was really loud and clear. Then I whizzed off to the massive shopping centre and got a few more prezzies and bits, then back to this town for a few more, got my eyebrows threaded, treated myself to a sandwich for luncvh from the gorgeous sandwich bar came home and did loads of xmas wrapping up :T

Then i did something I have never ever done.......................I went and had my nails done :D. I had shellac put on them and am pleased to report that they are still looking great. I could make a habit of this and maybe I will now I can afford it. It was £15 so I'm sure I could manage that once a month. I also bought a small bottle of almond oil to use because I know that shellac does ruin your nails.

Came down with a sore throat and still feeling rough with it now. :(

Thursday - my dress from MandS arrived and it didn't fit! It was a 10 and it was too big! It also made me look about 55 but I think that was because of the fit not the style of the dress. I reckon an 8 would be ok but it is going back so I will be £65 richer :) So it was the bodycon mata1an dress for the xmas party.

Friday - Xmas party day! Had a lovely time. It was a really great evening - 5 course meal, live band, disco, bumper cars, rope, silk and hoop dancers, fire-eater etc. Really fun night. WLM picked me up bang on midnight. All in all had a fab time ;)

Apart from food shopping (£30.23 A1di) dd and I had a lazy day yesterday. Not because I was hungover, mainly because I was just really tired ;) and I still have this cold thing. We even went out for fish & chips for our tea because I didn't feel like cooking and also because I didn't end up spending any money Friday night so still had about £25 in my purse.

I have woken up today still feeling really achey, my stomach muscles hurt from coughing and my nose eeps running. We are having our family xmas do at my aunt's today. It's only about a half hour drive away so i won't be drinking. I'm really looking forward to it but annoyed that I feel under the weather. DD has made me breakfast bless her and I have just taken some cold & flu tablets. I hope no one minds me nodding off later.....
