I missed 50p roadkill today; some guy got it instead. I had to stop myself kicking him on the ankle. That wouldn't have been very ladylike.

kiplingmonkey, I look forward to seeing your Total back on SPC 5 later on. I must say what you're doing with your kiddies is a WONDERFUL idea!!! :T I hope whatever they manage they'll be so thrilled with it and always want to keep it up. No matter what the going rate is for pocket money, it's what YOU can afford that counts! :D

Have posted my total back on SPC 5 but DDs managed to save £55.70 and £50.70 - they are going to use it to buy something they really want and not something they have already asked Santa for...

Starting this year with £5.17 of oddments from last year plus £5 for not buying the Elemis TSV tomorrow on the Q...

    Hi all,
Count me in for another year, Sue. I'm gonna scrap the target though and just save whatever I can. It'll be shrapnel only this year plus whatever roadkill Sparky leaves behind.

  • Really impressed by all your totals. I collect £2 coins separately so my sealed pot total won't be that high. My coin counter (present from in-laws), and change bags are in the loft - you've inspired me to leave my comfy sofa and sleeping cat to get up into that cold loft. See you soon :)
  • Thanks for your lovely message Sue, I often read the thread even if I don't post.
I'm going to try the virtual challenge as well this year as we don't use cash that often.
Kas is great after some big changes in her life. She actual smiles now!!! When I next see her I'll get her to show me (again) how to change my signature so that I can put my total in it.

    Evening all

Excited about starting with the sealed pot. Not completely sure on what pot will get which coins.... so haven't saved any yet.

I have decided my saving target for 2013 will be £2013 ! so anything I can save in my sealed pot will count and mean I will hopefully find myself in a much better financial position this time next year than I currently find myself. i.e. money on the credit card - overdraft eating all my money etc etc

Happy saving everyone ! no roadkill yet and no pennies left in self service checkouts but I shall be keeping my eyes peeled!
  • Evening everyone

Can i please join? My aim is to save £200.00 in my pot, going to start tonight!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I've missed the odd roadkill. must say - very tempting to inflict handbag attack on person who got there first !!

Sometimes my commute to work involves a 10 minute walk - I walk down a street with several parking machines. I've walked down this street for many years and it has never ever occured to me to see if there is any money lurking in the machines until someone walked past me doing precisely that !
