  • Pease may I join the sealed pot challenge. I usually save a large jar of change every year but I give it to the children so they can buy their christmas gifts for the family (which includes me) but I'm going to get them their own jars this year and they can save up themselves out of their pocket money, and whatever is in my jar next year will be the whole of my Christmas gift budget.

A very warm welcome, Tiglath, Determined diva, ollieandme, stardrops42, Elmly and redbooties, it's lovely to have you all with us. biggrin.gif Enjoy yourselves saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 4 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it helps so very much.

Hi ladsmadd, your Target's been updated, all the best in achieving it.

A really great start, Footie, and by golly tis good to see you back.

Lovely shots of your pots, Flat Eric, they're beautiful.

Good to see you settled in, skilly.

It's good to hear you excited about saving, boobiebonboo, atb.

A warm welcome to friends old & new, lets enjoy another year of saving and trying to get out of debt. Lets hope everyone manages to smash the SPC5 totals they saved.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement for Sue & myself they're very much appreciated.

Take care all, stay safe & keep saving

Morning sparky, I have to agree with all the above, especially the getting out of debt part. However, for those who may be unable to do so - by the end of this year - you'll be a step closer!
BTW Love your dyslexic fingers comment. :D

A good beginning, Ruth. Enjoy the lime juice and I'll drool all day at thoughts of you eating ruddy roasted chestnuts. :(;)

I'll try and count this up and declare it tonight

As Ruth say, don't ever worry about being exact, blindtoast, Declarations are only for the end of year. By putting a rough amount here on a daily/weekly basis though it really does seem to motivate others (you too) to save as well as they can. Apart from that, it adds to the fun. Thanks. :)

Just seen your new post, blindtoast, so I'll scrub the above! :rotfl:;) Just chuck it in indeed, though mind your cows belly...and udders!

I'm going to try and pop by very regularly to share in all the inspiration and encouraging words! :T
*settles down into the new SPC6 residence* Bring it on! :) xxxxx
Stick to the regularity, Cazzie and, with luck, you'll even better and achieve your dream, I sincerely hope so. :) I love the last bit. :D

Hello there, LC 2, you too, jakes-mum, best include the pair of you as a duo...and there was me thinking you'd have got lost :rotfl: :( Enjoy your shopping, LC 2, your DH will too, I'm sure. :j All the best with your Target jakes-mum!
I will be opening SPC5 tonight to count with my DDs so don't know the grand total yet but it is quite exciting. This year I set them a challenge too (they are 11 and 7) to save £50 from their pocket money so we are going to open their money boxes tonight as well. They have been really good at adding £1 a week from their pocket money. Eldest gets £3 and youngest gets £2.50 a week - not sure how this pocket money rate compares with anyone else?

kiplingmonkey, I look forward to seeing your Total back on SPC 5 later on. I must say what you're doing with your kiddies is a WONDERFUL idea!!! :T I hope whatever they manage they'll be so thrilled with it and always want to keep it up. No matter what the going rate is for pocket money, it's what YOU can afford that counts! :D

All the best to you and Percy the Pig, Betsie, I hope you fill him.

No potting for me this morning :(

Don't you be worrying, Emily, just look forward to the next amount, however small or large, you're doing well.

Lovely to see you, Absinthe Fairy and atb.

Oh well done, Observer, good to see you've Christened it for us! :D Have a lovely time.

You're welcome, peaceandfreedom, and a good start made.

Ahhhhhh, bless you, sparky, :kisses3: that was so sweet, though without our resident auditor where would I be at this time of year! I know exactly what you mean about tother 2, nudge nudge ;)

Lovely to see you over here, mcjordi and thanks so much for topping the reminder thread up. :A
sue- please count me in for another glorious potting year.

new (old recycled) pot up and running as of this morning. Need to read and post more to help my motivation, think i will set us a target of £500 for next christmas but dont know if i will manage it with all the rising prices!!!!but we sure will have a darned good try.

DD loves this idea so i found her a pot for 59p in town so shes no excuse for not getting started-uni student so every penny will count. Now i have to get another one for DH because hes decided he wants one too. at least its all a worthwhile cause but i suspect this may turn into a competition.

Hi there, findingmyfeet, lovely to see you! It really does pay to to read and post more, folk do get more incentive that way, though I suspect the 3 of you will jolly each other along well too. ;)

A very good start, Gap, thanks for your words, we do appreciate them, though this is a delight to do.

Welcome back home, lindsaygalaxy, you'll soon be filling that terramundi...and sticking with it, I'm sure. :grinheart

A penny's good, nu1isit?, and if it's a lucky one, even better. I'll sort you out :rotfl:on SPC 5 in half a mo.

Silver and copper it is then, LunaLady, though if you get lucky with owt else, why not fling it in.

What's that, jakes-mum, not sealed yet???!! Wash you mouth out with soap....carbolic!! :D

    Sue x

  • Can I join please.

I started a seal pot in about October which I was placing 2 pound coins in...however gonna roll it over into 2013 challenge.

Target for opening will be 500 pounds..( wow )

  • I'd love to join 2013's sealed pot challenge! I have a present budget that I put away each month, but December always turns out to be more expensive than I imagine, so having a bit extra to put towards gifts or treats would be fantastic!

I never joined a SPC before, although I do have two money boxes that are currently rather stuffed full and could do with an empty before Christmas! Where do you all change your money??

    Hi

If it's okay with you I would love to join this challenge.

I do save change at the moment but find myself delving into the pot for a few pounds from time to time which is really no good.

I will seal a pot tonight and star with a shiney £2.00 coin I have in my purse at the moment.

    Take care

    Hello :wave::wave:

First timer here - but eager and raring to go. Have just made my tub (albeit prob a makeshift one for now) out of an empty icecream tub :D

Thanks for adding me Sue. You added me last night and updated number on the old thread as 1856 but on this thread that has been allocated to someone else?

Can you add me for this new challenge please?

    thanks

I'm back too:j and hoping to do much better this time:o. Off to a good start with a pot of pennies I forgot about for SP5-probably around 60p or so but I won't count them and they are going into SP6.

Thanks again Sue and Sparky -you really do work so hard for us all:T Those name/number lists on the first page take some organising as does adding up everyone's totals.

Sue That was really lovely of you to say that I reminded you of home. I love the New Forest and spend alot of time there. We last went at the end of October for a week and usually try to go several time through the winter. Unfortunately, not this year though -finances being what they are. Hopefully though, we will go back down in March next year.

    Happy SP6 potting everyone!:)
