Been for a cheeky rummage in my hubby's trousers (not half as much fun as it sounds...!) and grabbed handful of coinage to chuck in the pot.

Also, inspired by everyone else emptying purses before payday, I have done the same (still with my eyes closed so I can't see how much is going in the pot).

Hope everyone has a great Easter break (4 days off work plus chocolate - woo hoo!).

    My first 68p :j

After seeing some previous posts I have now been motivated to putting the five pound coins in my wallet in there as I type this post.

£5.68 not bad for a days work

it was pay day after all

Do I need to keep a running total or just count up at the year end?

Well done to all who have managed to save whatever today

Morning all, weather not too bad here.
Do I need to keep a running total or just count up at the year end?
First, welcome to both the thread and MSE.
It's an individual choice really. I have set a target, so keep an "eye" on savings totting up the full £'s and getting an extra surprise from the extras. I only save £2, £1, 50p and 20p coins - easier for counting. lol
Others don't keep a total and may not even have a target and get a total surprise so to speak.
    Do what suits yourself really.

Hoping to pot a little from change from fish chop lunch this afternoon.

Well done, that's the spirit! To answer your question...personally, I would rather not know how much is in there until pot opening time. I can usually only pot a few pence at a time so would get a bit despondent if the total didn't move very fast. Last year I amazed myself with over £100 which would have been frittered away simply left in my purse. Having said that, just do whatever works for you to keep you motivated :D Good luck!

I just popped in to say have a lovely Easter everyone :easter:

    For the husband certainly. :D
  • Thanks for the response. We all love an element of suprise so will keep it that way until pot opening time as no tartget in mind. The total will only be moving slow but every little helps.

    Lynsey - Enjoy your chippy
