Crimson -well done with the £9.55.

The custard thing - yep I agree its wrong, but can see why restaurants (and my mum!) do it. A plate will hold far less custard than a bowl. Whilst the restaurants do this to increase their profit margins, my mum does this to save my dad's waist line.

They usually serve it in a bowl and its only a kids portion so its not like you get much more in a bowl!! I will know to ask for a bowl in future! lol. Unless they were actually trying to tell me and dad something lol.

i need to rant, it has been bugging me since last night. We went for dinner with friends last night and had a cheeky little pudding. I had kids chocolate brownie and custard and my dad had jam rolly poly and custard both of which came ON A PLATE!!!! This is just wrong. Am i being crazy? i think so maybe lol

The sunshine has come to see us today too :)

Well, Ruth, until reading Nell's post I'd though it just to be a modern way of serving desserts up, but..........

......I'm sure you're quite right about the restaurant profits, Nell, but thinking on it now, your Mum is doing your Dad a real favour!

Could it catch on I wonder???

Excuse the term of phrase, Ruth, but you may have to er - suck it up! :rotfl::think:

Since it was a kids pudding, perhaps next time i'll buy one for my niece and nephew, i don't know a kid handy enough with a spoon that they can eat custard from a plate without it all going over the table. lol, no i know i'm just a very fussy person, anyone that has met me longer than 2 minutes knows that.

Crimson......I was at parents yesterday afternoon, sorting out paperwork for their PPI claims. Mum is heading off on holiday with me tomorrow so she announced to Dad that as she was going to be away for a week she would make him an apple pie (as the oven was on). We all sat down at tea time for Lasagne, after which she announced that she fancied a bit of the apple pie and some custard. He could see the funny side of her tucking into "his" holiday apple pie, but she added insult to injury when she insisted that he have his on a plate and not a bowl cos he likes custard too much.:rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

Been potting sporadically through this week as I decided to take a break from "twin" shopping. DH is threatening to relieve me of my bank cards :D so this is now serious :D:D!

I just popped in to wish everyone a lovely Easter break. It is cold so please stay warm and safe.

    All the best,

I got paid today (finally!!!) and I have £3.70 in coins left over in my purse...so in the pot it goes! :D

I usually keep it in my purse for buses, but as it's the bank holiday my OH is going to be off until Tuesday so he'll be my chauffeur taking me to and from work for the next couple of days! :)
