Happy Anniversary LC2 and DH. 31 years is fab. Bet the time has flown. Hope you are spoilt rotten today. Enjoy yourselves.

    Thank you ModestyB

I don't know about time flying this is my DH we are talking about!!! and he has another cold!!! We were going to go out for lunch but he wasn't sure if he felt like it so I went out with my friend and he moaned cos I left him on his own :rotfl::rotfl:

Picked my 3GSs up from school and the two in the back of the car decided to have a scrap so I shouted at them the little one (5) told me it wasn't him so I reminded him I could see him in the mirror anyway he poked his tongue out. So I shouted at him and said "Did you just poke your tongue out at me"
"No, Nan my tongue was itchy so I was rubbing it on my teeth"

and I kept a straight face.

Potted £22 cos I won £20 on the lottery :j:j

I have 5p to pot, which I'll do when I eventually make myself go in to the kitchen.

We had a rat problem when we first moved in to our house (we're renting), it was finally sorted out after we'd been here for a year. Last night I thought I saw a rat but then convinced myself it was just a shadow, however DH sent me a text at work today to say he thought they were back. So I did the trusted shreddies test (put a few shreddies along the bottom of the floor cabinets) and sure enough they were gone within half an hour!! Our rats are very brave and don't mind when they come out!!

Last time we put some poison in the base units in the kitchen and by the time we'd come downstairs from putting some up in the loft you could hear the rats crunching on the poison!! Yes it kills them but then they go and die behind the dishwasher because it's a warm place and then you have the 'smell' and flies for over a month even though we got rid of the body! I best get the rat trap out tonight, hopefully we can kill a few of the dumber ones off with that!!

We need to get out of this place!!! :( I've phoned the landlord but she's obviously changed telephone numbers and decided not to share her new one with us! I've called the council as we dealt with a chap there last time (because the landlord wouldn't pull her finger out) and left him a message. It's a long bank holiday weekend and we are supposed to be having friends staying for the week next week!! :'(

Sorry to moan at you all. There's nothing that can be done really, it's just horrible having to live like this when the rats are here. We need to buy our own house pronto!!
Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!

  • Oh mossy how horrendous for you :( I would be going berserk 'cos I hate the little blighters. Although we live in the country and just know they are out there in the fields, at least I don't have them in the house (fingers crossed when I say that  ) there are also about 10 cats in the area which is a pain when they mess in my borders but it does seem to deter the rats & mice :) Good luck with getting rid of them.... these blimmin' landlords...

Dear LC you do make me laugh :rotfl::rotfl:Aren't kids amazingly funny....

I had to have my car serviced today and they very kindly cleaned it as well; inside and out :T I had it back complete with the £1 coin they had found under the seat. I know it isn't mine because I don't keep money in my pocket so it must have slipped out of DH's pocket when he borrowed my car at the weekend. Tee hee it's mine now! POTTED!

Hugs to all the poorly people and those battling other problems too x

Mossy, I am sure that landlord of yours would make an appearance as soon as the rent did not hit their bank account!!! Seems you have to flush the landlord, as well as the rats. Good luck.

mossy your landlord and the rats sound awful! You poor thing, having to live with them in your house :(

Nothing to pot today, unfortunately. Our car is beginning to fall apart, (it's getting to the stage where we keep having to fork out for repairs), and I have no idea how we're going to afford to get a new one. I was hoping to keep the pot going until November, but I've got a horrible feeling we may have to open it much earlier :(

mwah ha ha ha, don't put ideas into my head!! :D :rotfl: :D

We don't like them, and it's fair to say that if anyone asks me to get up in the middle of the night and make them a drink, the answer will be a resounding bug!!r off!!

At the end of the day, we don't have much choice. We'll just have to put up with it again, can't put DD through moving house again, as a couple of years ago we'd lived in four different houses over the space of 14 months (grrr landlords!!, and honestly it wasn't us, we just had some nutters!!) Anyway, we are on operation buy a house, and there's nothing quite like a rat investation to focus the mind on getting finances sorted out lol!! :rotfl: :D
