Welcome to the thread all new potters!
DH was cleaning out the car today and I was very hopefull of some finds -but not one single penny (or so he said:D) So I'm donating 50p into the pot myself tonight, as I didn't go out shopping today and have been very frugal:D

Evening all!!

I have an unused cookie jar that I drop my change into already and I also save £2 coins (had £200 towards our holiday earlier this year:j) so I'll empty out my cookie jar, count it up and then start afresh!!!

A very warm welcome, debtfree future, vladivar25, Geraldine295, will-be-debt-free and msgnomey, it's lovely to have you all with us.
Enjoy yourselves saving. You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on post 5 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it helps so very much.
debtfree future, all best wishes with shifting that debt.
Geraldine, did you want a Target of £500 put on the list?Sorry to be a pain already!
I've tried to create my sig about 6 times now and its just not showing in my posts
Thanks for branding me with my very own Number Sue :T
Edit : Hmmmm and now it's decided to show up!! lol
Don't you worry, AlTeREgO, absolutely no one on SPC is a pain, though some would argue as to whether that applies to me or not :undecided the [STRIKE]swines[/STRIKE] sweeties. You're welcome to the No..and BTW...it's showing up well.!!Here I am, raring to go for next year. I'm aiming for £250 (for a new Latin dress- or, if I manage to sew a dress, it'll go in the holiday fund instead (which will please my OH no end!)).
No 2 ways about it then, RedGoose....best.get stitching!! :grinheart
Very many thanks indeed for your lovely words, Kerry, it means a lot.I think this sealed pot thing is becoming infectious.
My OH earlier this year decided he would put any spare £1 coins and any £5 notes he got in a sealed pot (glad he had the momey to spare). He's counted up and has just over £350 to put in his ISA. And as he commented, he didn't miss it at all...he would have ust frittered it away if it was in his pocket
He's decided he's going to have a go for a whole year now with me to see how much money he can save.
Methinks there is some healthy competition in the household:rotfl:
Marg
Oh, what a marvellous affect you've been on him, Marg!Congratulations to him! Though why not pool it and include it in your Total, others do so, go on.
Very shrewd for sure, mossy, that's one thing about saving like this, you tend to deliberate over everything, but it pays off!! :j
Very lucky you, mildredalien, keep looking down, but beware of bumping into posts...or people! :rotfl:
It's lovely to see how pleased you are at saving, fingersxed, though blonde moments can't be helped with. I have them too, and I'm brown!
Well saved, JAMIEDODGER.
Good to see you back, ~~Diane~~, I'll be over to SPC 5 in a few minutes.mcjordi wrote:popped im the change from shopping todayhad nephew with me so cost me more than it should of lol
Leave him over in future then, mcjordi! :rotfl: Good to see you had some left for the pot.Susanne_Cape wrote:No potting for me today, but thought I would pop in to say hi to our lively thread. Ok, I admit it, I am thoroughly entertained by everyone's posts.
WOW, with so many people saving and paying off their debts/mortgages, we'll soon be able to stick a finger up at the banks and skip into the sunset:D:D:D! The banks will soon be asking us for loans :rotfl:! Revenge is so sweet!
I can't wait for our distinguished auditor :kisses3: and inspirational forum director :kisses3: to publish our 2012 total.
Go on, Susanne, tell the truth....you were being nosy!!! :rotfl: How crude to even consider sticking a finger up to the bankers (had to think about that word for a mo!), we'll ALL (all 1879 of us) do a tour of them with a finger in the air...though we'll probably have birds pitch on them instead.
Whhhhooohay!!! I've just been promoted!! :j If you're watching in sparky, ooooh haven't we done well with our job titles.
Thanks so much for the welcome and info, Susanne, much appreciated which deserves a gold star. :staradmin
A gold star for you too, mcjordi :staradmin Thank you for the help on this and the reminder threads!
Hi again, elizabunny! Such frugality should most certainly be rewarded with a 50p here and there; actually that's not a bad idea on NS days.
Yes, Sal, the same number again and again, it'll never wear out. Are you sure you won't give your terramundi another chance?? Try tweezers!

Hello all
Been lurking on the old thread for a while and Im so inspired by all the fab amounts you guys have saved!
Soooo.... Today I took the big scary step of buying myself a sealed tin of my very own! :rotfl:
So I guess I'm just popping in to say could I have my own number to match please?!
I have a budget of £10 per day for work/travel/shopping etc so will hopefully be potting whatever I have left from that each day - if I have any!
Since I've never saved seriously before I don't know how much to put as a target :-/ I think I'll take an ambitious guess at £500? But I think I'll be pleased if I manage to save anything at all!SPC6 no 1882£2 savers no 66VSP no 280 -
Thank you Sue & Sparky for all your hard work in looking after us all. I bet poor Sparky will be having nightmares about £ signs and numbers. :rotfl:
I won't set a target this year, just shove everything I can in and hopefully have a nice surprise. DH must have been impressed with our total this year as he's actually telling me to pot money!
I've made a start with a couple of £1 coins and some roadkill. I'm just putting it all in the same pot this year instead of separate tins.
Welcome to all our new potters. Good luck and enjoy saving.S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50
