    Am I too cynical???

of course you not cynical - its realism! This is great PR for sainsburys..I missed out of getting a bag but was already in the que so went in to do a shop, and I'm sure all the people who desperately wanted a bag and got one will be delighted with Sainsburys!!

But personally I'm more of a Tescos girl!

i happened to be up and about early anyway and live very near to the store so thought id do a drive by and see if there was any point ( if there were crowds of anxious and irate customers was just gonna drive on) . there werent that many folk and it looked civilised so i got out took a ticket and got chatting to other customers. anyway to cut a long story short i got one but i dont think id use it as its not a shoulder bag and the carrying type hurt my neck. ( am rambling now cause im so tired lol! )
cant believe they are so sought after. put it up for sale on ebay but doesnt look like theres much interested im surprised that some people are getting as much as a hundred pounds.

I arrived at my local store ( Street in Somerset) at 6.05a.m. 4 people in fron of me. We waited till 7.00 when the store opened and the then we were asked to queue inside till 8.00. About 7.45 ( by which time there were 30 people in the queue) we were given tickets and then bought our bags at 8.00 a.m. There were 3 staff behind us in the queue but they were not on duty just customers like the rest of us. My daughter is delighted as it was for her!!
However my sister queued at Frome and they were given tickets at 7.00 and told they could come back at 8.00. When they got back there were a lot of people queuing with no tickets who had not been told that others already had tickets. When I bought mine the customer services desk had a big sheaf of papers with instructions about selling them. Sainsburys should have had the same policy for every store.
I think the store I went to handled it brilliantly. Well Done !! So sorry for everyone who missed it.
forgot to say the 1st in the queue was a man!!

the ticket system is a good one i think as it saves folk from being pushed and shoved and fighting ( anyone remember the rain mac at h and m lol !) however we were told that we had to queue AND take a ticket and this done we must not leave the queue so those who arrived early got the first tickets but had to queue anyway. and NO bags were issued to staff. store manager was there personally to give tickets and explain to dissapointed customers. i have to say i thought he did great ( kirkintiloch store )

I'm up as well, my local store does not open until 9 so shall be late in for work today.

This bag is for me me me.

Just makes me wonder how these designers can justify the amount they normally sell thier products for. Ok I know we are paying for thier experience and training, but I for one cannot justify spending the kind of money they command.

    Update

Got to White Rose, Leeds at 6.45 and was No 21 in queue. People has been there since 4.30, but we think becuase it was a later opening store people had gone to others in the area. They supplied us with hot drinks and let the lucky 30 wait in the foyer to stop other joining the queue. It was like you had won the golden ticket in Charlie and the chocolate factory. We had a newspaper reporter waiting with us and she phoned her storey in as we waited. Cannot praise the store enough, they were very effient and watched the queue closely for jumpers (we had none). Not selling mine, have used it for work today and had 3 people stop me and ask me where I got it from already. Very chuffed.

Yep, I have to agree,..........was that the manager? It was all very civilised wasnt it, what I found really funny was the poor souls who turned up to the bad news that they were too late, all tried to make it seem like it didnt matter....'was passing anyway'..kindathing..when Im sure inside they were saying....'fer fexsake, I coulda had an extra half hour in bed'!! Wonder how many people got the later bus to work and arrived late with their new shopping bags xxx;)
