  • I managed to get a bag from the Hessle store in East Yorkshire, queued from 6.20am through. Anyone turning up after 6.45 had no chance. Really wanted one but now I have it am wondering about ebaying it as just had a look at what they're going for and really could do with the money!!! Oh what to do. Did feel it was fairly done by the store through. Signs on the door with the rules and tickets only given by at 7.50 to the first 30 in the queue and then allowed in at 8am.

  • When I was queing, I met my Sister!!!!Didnt know she was going for one, nice surprise (she helped to help entertain my wee darling son thank goodness) and just to show that romance isnt dead, there are some gentlemen out there, One guy had arrived rather shyly admiting that he was there to get one for his girlfriend, whom he'd left all tucked up in bed, as she's 8 months pregnant...........aaaaaawwwwwwww, isnt that lovely? I thought it was really heartwarming, xxx

Ps, glad to say he got one, as my sister and I did xxx

  • it's a BAG.

i can understand why people want one, it looks nice.

but queuing at 2am, shouting at staff, getting little kids so worked up about it that they cry when they can't get one...it just seems ridiculous to me.

if it was something amazingly-beautiful-one-of-a-kind-i'd-die-without-it i would understand. but it seems to me that people just want it because others want it.

i don't see anything wrong with selling it for £200+ on ebay..if the charity cared so much about the environment they'd provide enough bags so that this kind of thing wouldn't happen. instead, they've made it into such a big deal that the very point of using the bag in the first place has pretty much been forgotten by most people.

(also, if someone's got so little sense that they will pay that much money for a canvas bag, they deserve to be ripped off.)

sorry if that causes offence to anyone. i'm happy that the people here who wanted to get one did manage to get it...but i just can't see why it's such a huge deal.

Does anyone know the significance of the colours of the tags? Some tags look purple, others are green. Are the Sainsbury bags exactly the same as the ones sold in her shop?

Well done to those that got themselves out of bed to queue at Sainsburys, and well done to Sainburys for handling the queues so well (mostly). When the Arctic Monkeys played a surprise gig here in Middlesbrough, the venue handed out wristbands to the queue and sent them home in the early hours of the morning ... sadly touts managed to copy the wristbands and many of the early queuers didnt get in to the concert.
  • I managed to get one!:j
Did get out of bed & down to Sainsburys at Castle Boulevard,Nottingham for 6.40am mind! I was told that some people had been in the que since 4am.
Luckily my local store had managed to get hold of 90 bags & i was no 32 in the que. :T

I was number 37 in the same queue!

Judging by the appearance of half the people in front of me in the queue this bag is going to be a real hit with tramps and mentalists, seemed to be split 50/50 with apparently normal people and the cast from truly madly deeply.

    Quite an experience...

I think we were at the same store :rotfl:

Spoke to customer services at London Colney apparently customers had been queuing since 0230 with flasks and chairs to get one of these bags . Saw a picture of the bag and I have to say ,I cannot understand what all the fuss is about. Great marketing ploy by Sainsburys though , cos once the people are in store they may as well do a shop . Am I too cynical???
