People who queued at 2am and got tickets arent technically getting reservations... the manager simply made the decision that they should be given tickets as they were in a queue anyway. Why wait to 8am to give them tickets? If they are silly enough to queue at that time then fair enough!

The fault is with Sainsburys giving it to staff in some stores. That is out of order...

Why say first come first served basis at 8am onwards, its silly and they ARE BEING RESERVED IF THEY GET TICKETS AT 4AM ETC. If they come at 2am they should queue up n stay there not walk up get a ticket and walk away...

  • Got to my local sainsburys at 6.40. Quite a big queue and other cars coming in behind me - handbrake turned into space (you get the idea) tried for a pay & display ticket, machine got jammed and the queue's shouting 'Leave it - Get in the queue!' I was number 30!! Phew. Girl arrived behind me 5 seconds later to be told none left. She did a recount and it turned out the manager couldn't count as she recounted and I was 29, she was 30. Too much excitement for pre-7.00am. Got one though!! Hoorah!

It'd still be the same people in the queue at 8am as at 7am.

i was at sainsburys in s/ruislip at 6.20am. there were about 9 people in front. A whole family of five were in the que. elderly mother.grown daughter, 2 sons and pregnant wife. We know where their bags were going. one bloke even turned up with his 2 small children hoping that they could get a ticket as well. his wife had gone to another store. the ones that turned up after 7 didn't get a ticket. we were able to go home and come back for out bags at eight. I'm very happy with mine and I am not going to sell it on ebay. apparently people were turning up and shouting the odds at the poor manager because all the bags had been alloctated and they accused him of selling them to staff. So he had them thrown out of the store.
    HOW MUCH ?

Unfortunately is is never possible to make everyone happy. I wok for a company that has tried many ways in the past selling tickets for a high profile sporting event in London and Cardiff.

The handing out tickets is a fantastic idea, it gives confidence to people that they will get one. I have a ticket to swap for a bag.

Giving tickets out early to people isn't a good way, its great if you got there really early or 5 minutes before they gave the tickets out you get the ticket and go home and return later. I can get out of bed at 5am get the ticket and return home for another 2 hours in bed.

The tickets should have been given out closer to the time the bags went on sale to force people to wait, people that queue and wait deserve the prize whatever it may be someone who turns up at 5am grabs a ticket and leaves to return at 8 when they go on sale doesn't as far as I'm concerned.

People in the queue I was in were saying 1 store in the Manchester area had handed their tickets out at 2 am to the people in the queue. the queue then all left and it wasn't until 7am the manager came out and informed the queue that they had all been allocated.

The allowing and not allowing staff to buy isn't fair, here were 2 staff members in the queue I was in not in uniform and had been queueing awhile I believe the were 6th and 7th in the queue, if they are prepared to sand out in the cold for how ever long required than they deserve their prize, one of them then took his bag in to the back of the store and returned ready for work.

Not giving kids a ticket/bag ok a toddler doesn't need a bag but 5 or older should be considered, most of the time they are dragged out by mum to get the prize but hey they are queueing up as well.

I bought a bag with the intention of it going on eBay but my mum saw it as it came in the house and likes it so I don't think it will get there. I had to go to 2 stores and was 28th in the queue at the 2nd store getting there at 7:45.

There were the optimistic people joining the queue after the tickets had been handed out in the hope they would get a bag even though they had been told they had all been allocated they stayed untill they reached the custmer services desk and were told there were no more left. a few of hem started to kick off a little 1 woman going on about going to other stores and being told he tickets were handed out earlier and sold at 7am as the store was a 24 hour store.
  • I went to the Sleaford store (in Lincolnshire) at 7.45 and got in the queue, ticket no 18, few more arrived, no panics or rush and store was handing out cookies whilst you waited for the store to open at 8am.

The only excitement was two '17ish' girls screaming on the way out as they had got one and another guy who missed out shouting 'my girlfriend will kill me' - cest la vie (if that's the correct spelling) :-)
