I got one i was 8th in the queue, got there at 6am, but found it all very disorganised as having a ticket, did not garentee you a bag. Also found it unfair that some stores were seliing them at 7am when the stores opened, yet we had to wait till dead on 8 to buy. Its not as big as i thought it would be, Did anyone's bag come with the book, would have liked the book.?

How did having a ticket, not guaratee you a bag?

    Wohoo Yippeeeeeeeeeeee

Managed to get one at long last. Can't wait to use it today but need to go to bed first Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Got up at 6 and my store is only a few minutes away so got there at 6.20 as the store opens at 7. Had to take a day off work in order to get this bag.

They let us in at 7.00 but did not hand out tickets till 7.50. Sainsbury's were really well organised and I like the way they did it really. Think about it they could have just put them on the shelves and most of us would not have been able to get one as people would have grabbed at least 5 or so to sell on ebay and make a profit.

I bought this for me and wish I could have got one for my sister but only being allowed one is fair for the people that do genuinely want one for themselves. Harvey Nichols and Anya Hindmarch allowed each person to purchase 4. I was 30th in the queue at 6.20am and by 8.06am they had sold all 90. I did notice one lady who ran to her car put the bag in the boot and ran straight back in to grab another one which she was allowed to do as she then came back out with another bag.

Another lady bought her 2 young boys with her no older than 4 and 6 and asked if they could have a bag as well but the store refused.

The queue had about 80 maximum but then people drifted in about 8ish and took the last few. I would think they are probably all well and truly sold out in all Sainsbury's stores now. So if you want one I am more than sure there will be literally hundred's on ebay this evening. Noticed people have put them on already.

Well done to everyone who managed to get one. Job well done. Price will definately come down on these bags on ebay.

Need to go and fill up my new bag with everything but the kitchen sink now.

Judging by the appearance of half the people in front of me in the queue this bag is going to be a real hit with tramps and mentalists, seemed to be split 50/50 with apparently normal people and the cast from truly madly deeply.

    Quite an experience...

Just out of interest, what size/dimensions is the bag?

I totally agree that it is unfair about children not being given a ticket. I was there with my daughter at 7am this morning and she was really looking forward to having one, but when it was 7.55 and they were handing out tickets, they passed her by, when i said, hang on, what about my daughter
we were completely ignored. The people in front and behind us said that was really rude, so when I picked up the bag, I again asked, " at what age are do you become a Sainsbury's "Customer" and was told "you wouldn't send your daughter in to do your shopping would you" and I said "no, but that's not answering my question" so I repeated the question, and she repeated her answer and it was obvious I was getting nowhere, so I just said I will write to head office as a matter of principle as they were being discriminating. All it says is "1 per customer", no mention of "you have to be over 18" etc.

I know in my store they refused a lady with her young boys but another lady was with her school daughter in uniform about maybe 10 - 11 and they did give her a ticket and mother got one as well. I think it depends on the manager and store. Maybe some let this whole thing get to their heads. I would definately complain about this because they let her in the store and buy magazines or anything apart from alcohol as long as she paid and there was no mention of a minimum age requirement.

I think it should be up to managers descretion as someone could bring her 5 kids along to get 6 bags to just flog them all on ebay and someone else may bring her 2 kids(as i know my 11 year old daughter would want one for herself and so would i) and they might all genuinley want one for themselves .
So i can see both sides of argument and if they gave to one kid then all other parents whos kids would be up in arms. Maybe the kids who cried should get their parents to ring head office. And my kids get me shopping sometimes when i forget the odd thing so kids DO do shopping sometimes.

The answer is relatively simple. If you're putting products out there for the hard working general public and not the elite (as per Anya Hindmarch's normal products), you need to make enough to meet demand as it will net you a fortune in goodwill and additional purchases in store. They didn't HAVE to do it this way. It's disappointing and although I suppose I'm a bit smug I've got mine, there's an awful lot of people who were pushed out because of the ebayers. I could have made a fortune two weeks ago with mine, but I chose to keep it. Then again.... isn't money making and saving what we're all about?!

Nobody is making a profit from these bags,

I agree, vickypink, that Sainsburys is not making a profit - same cannot be said of the people who slapped theirs immediately on Ebay!!

If the reason for getting one is purely environmental, Sainsburys will be giving away bags for life for free on Friday 27th April (while stocks last!). Not got the designer kudos of the Anya Hindmarch bag and not going to make someone a quick profit, but can help the environment if re-used!!! :D
