1st update for me. Haven't done as well as I wanted due to various things cropping up, car tax £135 for 6 months!!!! Also DH off work with tonsillitis so lost a week of money :-(( and today the car has decided to give up, god knows what's wrong with it I think it's either the steering or wheel? Either way I'm sure it's gonna cost me a small fortune.
But I have managed to save £160 all from eBay! Not bad but hopefully next month will be alot better.
Keep up the good work everyone!"sealed pot challenge" member 082 6-£450 7 £860 banked :staradmin :staradmin

Some good updates everyone
And every little helps Starbrite. To look at the positive, even in a very expensive month (where some people would have drawn on their savings) you still managed to save.
Pay day Thursday so will be updating then. :beer:0 -
Well it was payday on Friday and I managed to work out that I can put at least £700 in savings. Going to double check to see if I can add to it at all!0

Love all the updates so far :money:
January update from me:
I divided my target (£7,300) by 12 and worked out that I need to save £608 a month. I spent the first week depressed I had set myself such a high target (:(), the second and third week achieving the target and then some (:D) and then the fourth week being all lazy and not doing anything (:rotfl:). As I start the second month off, I'm back to being daunted by such a high target but hopefully I'll be back to productivity soon and not get as lazy this time.
I have saved £721 this month by:
Freelance - £516
Halifax reward - £5
Salary - £190.16
Ebay - £9.84
I am another one saving for a house deposit and these are just based on my own finances.
As an avid reader of the thread, I thought the whole concept of 'pay myself first' was very interesting. So am off to do just that for this month (but first will update the spreadsheet).
Well done everyone0 -
..ooh forgot to add that I'm pretty pleased with some old clothing items that have sold over the last few weeks. I haven't made a lot but sold some items I've had for sale for months that weren't budging and thought I'd never sell! So I'm very glad I didn't take them off and use them as rags! ..every little helps!0

Saver88, my car too! Nasty warning light came on :eek:which dealer said made it unsafe to drive. Turned out boot was full of water, no idea how, not down to excessive washing:rotfl:. £220 for 2 hours worth of diagnostics later...
Starbrite, you're not the world's worst saver because you have SAVED SOME MONEY!!! :DWhich is much better than the alternative ie GETTING INTO DEBT. So be proud! The longest journey starts with a single step etc etc0 -
Just catching up on the thread, really good to see how well everyone is doing, well done!
I've managed to get more grocery savings, keeping a spreadsheet with all my shopping and savings on it! Also made a small sale on a local for sale Facebook page, hoping to get some more sales over the next few weeks, saves on postage as they come and collect!
