Have re-allocated some existing accounts to fit this year's plans and get better organised, and am feeling all eager-beaver, long may it last :j
Haha carolinerunner, I've done this too....I always get paid early in Dec so this year it was on the 24th instead of the usual last day of the month..... Very dangerous when it has to last until the 31st Jan! Have managed to put most of it aside until Jan... which is now only 3 days away... Thank goodness! So have a wee pot of money waiting to be added on the 1st.... Let the savings begin!0 -
[Deleted User] wrote:Hi LL, anything we save is better than nowt. I have set myself my biggest target yet and am feeling very daunted by it, thinkingI will never get to it. But I am keeping it as it is just to give myself the motivation.
Up to a few years ago I was up to my ears in debt and via this website and joining various challenges I am now debt free. I look back and can't believe the changes I have made. Yet I still beat myself up about having no real savings 'at my age' and then get in a panic about the future, about being a failure financially (whatever that means). For me this year the idea is to do the best that I can do and if I fall a little short, so what, we are all here to support each other. Best of luck with this challenge LL and please stay with us.
Aww thanksI fully intend to stick around, will be times when I'm not on for weeks, or just read for a while, then other times when I post every day.
I forgot to say, my bf is moving in, we did say for January, but haven't really spoke of it or actually talked abt the practicalities of us moving in together, I don't know how to say I want u in but u are paying x per week. He is paying of £28000 student loans, wants to buy his own place, has repeatedly taken pay cuts (rest of the family don't!) , what ever we come to agree on I'm going to split the money, one into the savings account for this and have into a rainy day fund.
I have never had savings over a couple of hundred pounds. Will be very interesting to see how I doLiving Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

can I join (:...hoping to save £5000Save £5000 in 2013 #152 --- £0000.000

Last year I had a couple of savings account so it got confusing how much I was saving each month and interest etc. So this year I will have only one saving account for this target.
Have put in £500 to start me off.0 -
Slowlyfading, can I be a pest and change my target? I've just done my final update for 2012 and I managed to get over 13,000, so I now think I should go for 13,000 again in 2013 rather than the 12000 I had signed up for (that and the OCD is kicking in because the total doesn't match the year!)
So #59 going for 13,000
Thanks0 -
Hi, I have occasionally dipped in and out of the 2012 but as I was a student/unemployed I didn't feel I could save anything. But now I have a job (of all of 1 month ha ha), living at home and about to get myself a season ticket for the train journey, I am hoping to save £5k. I don't mind if I'm not added to the list (though if you want me..) but I would like to contribute where I can.0

Me and Mr Sal would like to sign up for this too.
It sounds great - we have plans to move to the country and need to replenish savings having committed to giving loads away to sons recently. Looking forward to the challenge - put us down for £12,000 and we'll do our best.
