Mortgage capital repayment (not the interest) is saving too.
Mortgage capital repayments reduce your indebtedness and increase your net wealth.

£900 for November, only £371 until I make target!0

Yes, thanks slowlyfading for the hard work; and to everyone here for the encouragement and news.
I have exceeded my target! I'm particularly pleased as it's been an expensive year in terms of furniture, computer and bike purchases and I've spent over 6 grand on those. It was stuff that genuinely needed renewing though. I did it on a 16months interest free credit card, and stashed the money away each month in a savings account (I've not counted that towards my savings total).
Glad to see there'll be a 2014 one too; I'm going to try clear the last knockings of my mortgage by March, ten years early. That will be a real milestone passed! I'm so lucky to be on a 0.5% tracker so there hasn't been much incentive to pay it off, my interest is only £2 per month! (only a few years back it was £400! )
Good luck everyone for the last few weeks; how ever big or small the amount is, it's all savings and positive!Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:
