    October update from me:

I have saved £813 this month - less than I'd have liked, but I've had quite a few nights out this month :o and I enjoyed them! So it's all good :D

My new total is £72,344. I have to save £2,656 in the next two months to hit my target, which will be very ambitious to say the least. But even if I don't hit it, I'll have got most of the way there. And that's better than nothing, eh?

I'm amazed by some of the savings totals here, you lot are a real inspiration! :)

    October update:

I am declaring £363.20 this month. By my calculations that means I have hit target :j:j:j with a little over :) I am so delighted. All I did was budgetted the maximum I knew I could afford each month and then aimed a little higher, adding extra payments to the pot as and when. This has worked for me.

Thank you, as always, to slowlyfading for your continued work and commitment on this thread and also to the rest of you guys for your never ending encouragement. I know my target was not as high as most others but to me it is a lot.

I am continuing on to see what I can reach by the end of the year so, once again, can hardly wait until next payday :rotfl:

    gap :D
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.

Well done on hitting your target early, girlatplay! SusanneCape is right - many people don't save at all, so £4,000 is AMAZING.

I think I will have reached my target this month. Wanted to save £6,000 and I have definitely exceeded that.

November and December will be big months for me moneywise as I will be spending a lot. So there won't be much additional savings.

I have learnt this week that a small amount saved is better than no savings at all. A friend moved back to her mums with her son after a relationship breakdown and she spent every penny she had. She lived there for 2 years, working full time and no bills to pay but came away with £3k debt.

I feel very lucky for saving, even if it's tiny :)

I have a student for the next 52 days (insert hysterical crying emoticon) so should net around £800. She may leave early though so I can't count on it to add to my total. I'm falling way behind target but it's all justified so I don't feel too bad.

  • Declaring £250.20 for this month - a real struggle to make this following an expensive car service and wedding in Scotland! So up to £4455.89 for the year.

I'm not going to make my target of £7,000 for the year but feel this was unrealistic in hindsight, and will be happy to save £5-6 k. Good news is that total savings are over £8,000 now, which is a good feeling :D

Final day of the month! I'll be doing a massive update of the spreadsheet this weekend - sorry for the delay in that.

Well done to those who are continuing to plod along! I'm not going to meet my target either, unless a miracle happens ;) but we're all doing great! :D

  • Hello everyone,
Well done everyone on your totals so far, I'm declaring £1,050.42 for the month, taking my total to £9,257.66 :j:j:j
I was feeling very demotivated half way through the year when I was just declaring £153 in June and £161 in July but everyone is right, every little does help, if I had given up during those months I wouldn't have the pleasure of saving over £1k this month, I would've just spent it!

Anyway only a few more months to go people.... you can do it!!

    Hi all,

Declaring £866.19 for October. I've updated on the first page and just had a look at the totals so far...over £700,000 saved! I think that's fantastic. Here's hoping for a cool million by the end of the year!
