Having spent all my savings on a deposit for my new house (wooo hoo!) I reckon I am best waiting to start again next year. I have put a few pounds away in October, but it will be spent again shortly on repairs and decoration. Glad to hear folk are doing so well!

Well I'm stunned-have managed over £800 this month (lots of scrimping and saving and selling on fleabay). Roughly adding it all up I am £40 short of my target of £4500. New target of £5000 by Xmas eek. I am soooo in love with saving!

Well done all, big or small it's all fantastic!

  • hello all im new here im currently £1600 in debt and looking to save £1500 by the end of the year. I set up a savings account with halifax and looking to bank around 500-600 a month. I am only 19 and saving this money to buy a new car in March/April. I will keep you updated.
  • Good to hear that everyone is doing well :).

Not been able to save anything recently, and have in fact had to eat into my savings, thanks to starting a new job, moving down to London and renting a flat. Life in London sure is expensive! Still managed to save £2182.67 this year so far, which beats my original target, so I'm pleased about that :). Going to aim for £3500 savings this year, as that would take my total savings/investments to £10k, which would be a great milestone, and I think is achievable :D.

    Signature updated to reflect.

Well done to all those on track or exceeded target. In fact well done to anyone who has been able to save anything this year. A little is better than nothing and at least it's not debt!

hi, I'm very late to the party here, given that it's nearly November, but I wonder if I could join in with a goal of saving £1,500 by the end of 2013? ... Just to give a bit of history, I used to be on these forums a lot a few years ago when I had card debts, but then left. I've subsequently managed to become debt-free, then had a few years clear of debt but not saving much either. Now I'd like to save some proper money and also become mortgage-free asap. The target will be pretty tough for me as it will leave me with about £30 a week for food, loo paper and other household bits and bobs, which might seem a lot but it's less than I'm used to spending. *embarrassed face*
  • Adding £1,115.78 to my total this month! Only £1,271 to go until I reach my target, definitely on track now. :)
