Payday for September and we have saved £1000 into the wedding fund, I have saved £250 into my regular saver and an extra £280. This adds my total up to £11,998.42!!!!
It would be nice to put more away especially so close to hitting the 12k but as mentioned last month I've had some double glazing windows put in at my property and we go to New York in 2 weeks so I will need some spending money for there. It all gears down to smashing the 12k next month! We have also booked to stay at Watergate Bay hotel again for a short break in early December, the end of 2013 is shaping up nicely. Just a couple more months of been sensible and a bit of luck (Christmas bonuses at work etc) should lead to the end of a successful year and a good start to another 12k challenge.

Haven't posted on this thread since the beginning of July so I've just updated for July, August and September and I've gone over the £12k!
Total as it stands for 2013 is now £12475 :j
However, my savings for the next few years are for home improvements and a week tomorrow we are getting all our double glazing redone and I've bought a new sofa which should be delivered by Bonfire Night... here's to a cosy winter.
So the savings will take a huge hit in about 3 weeks time when the windows need paying for but that was always the plan and I've done it so I'm very pleased.

Woohoo, ended up saving £1,151.36 this month
That's the most we've saved since Feb, and it's good to start getting back into £1,000+ amounts after the house purchase et al.
Next month is car insurance renewal time and we're having some work done on the house, but overall I'm still hopeful for a semi-positive figure in Oct.0 -
Hi everyone, my favourite day of the month where I can report in on the latest savings. This month we've been busy re-decorating the living room and buying a new carpet - looks good now so worth taking the hit on the finances. Other bills we've had include sorting out a TV licence for no.1 son at uni, and flea tablets for the dog (surprisingly expensive)! I've added £1611 on the update form, so am within a grand of the target now - woohoo. Happy saving everyone.Save 12k in 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022 - then early-retired.0
