  • Morning everyone I'm declaring £5,190.48 for August:j:j:j

That gets me way back on track for reaching £10k this year :T

Edit: also increasing my target to £11,000

Boom! Massive amount for one month, well done! I'd love to save that amount in one month but its basically 2 x months salary for me! Not that I'm complaining!

  • Great to hear how well people are doing :j.

August has been an exceptional month for me. Added
£1,229.48 to my savings, taking my total for 2013 thus far to £3,291.48. Delighted as this is way above my original target of £2000 for the year, but my new target, of £5000 seems unlikely as the next few months will prove difficult to further add to my savings, but even so I'm really pleased :D.

Hi everyone, I'm so pleased to read that so many of you have done well this month and that some of you are even changing your targets! It's amazing what a bit of savvyiness can do!

Right so this may be my last update for this year... about to buy a house, and we are edging ever closer to completing!!!:j So all my lovely money will now be tied up in bricks and mortar, and with all the extra bills to pay, I am going to let myself have the rest of the year to adjust to living on my own, in my own house!!!!

So the totals for me this month are.....

    Standing order - £1000.00
    Regular Saver 1 - £250.00
    Regular Saver 2 - £250.00
    Online Saver - £1067.44

    Grand total = £2567.44

So even if I aint around here next month, I will still be keeping track of how you are all doing.... and will hopefully be seeing you all on the 12k in 2014 thread! x
  • Well July has been good to me, off on holiday for 3 weeks and I paid 3 months advertising in local paper, still saved £2,603 on top of that. Balance of savings has leaped from £5,497 to £8,100!! Another £2,603 for August would maybe put a smile on my face but got van insurance to pay, which I pay in a lump sum so £2,000 looks more realistic so hopefull this time next month the balance is over £10,000!! Feel like I'm finally getting somewhere after Julys leap in savings!

Well moving on from a month ago, I'm at £11,500ish now!!! So £3,400 saved in August!! Saved £6,000 in 2 months, had only done £5,500 in the 6 months before that!! Things are picking up and looking up, can't wait to get to the £15,000 target I set!!! Will have to go out for full works meal and drinks if I manage to achieve my goal considering the amount we have spent on doing up the house my savings could be double what they are!!

Hi everyone, Reporting £1162 this month - which I'm pretty pleased with as we've had a holiday this month, but staying with friends near London and then with family in Yorkshire so pretty affordable really. Also renewed the car insurance, using this website's price comparison advice of course!

Congrats to everyone for your continued success with saving...and particularly to the 9 people I've seen from the spreadsheet have already achieved their target for 2013, amazing!

    Hi everyone,

You're all doing so well :)

Reporting £584.71 for the month. As a bit lower than I would have liked, although we had blinds fitted throughout our house which dragged down the savings total a bit.

Hoping for a better September otherwise I'm not sure whether I'll meet the £6,500 target.

Just dumped £1444.79 in to savings to start off September, wish more savings days were like this :D

Takes me past the two-thirds point, there will be more to come at the end of the month as the regular savers come round; won't quite be at the 75% point that I should reach by month nine, but will be close. Still hope to reach the full £13k by the end of the year :)
  • Lomcevak, brilliant start to September for you!! I should have alot less to add than the previous 2 months but still going to try get 4 figure away!! I forgot to deduct credit card when declaring total so its actually £11,000 savings are at!! That's an average of £1,375 a month now I just need £1,000 a month between now and 2014 to hit the total iv gone for at £15,000!! Will be buzzing if I manage to pull this off along side all the money iv been spending on my house and going to football and going out etc as I'm still living life and having fun!! Maybe try to have a September detox and not drink for it!
